I was trying to kill someone.
Killing represents getting rid of old parts of yourself.
Car crashs represent accidents in your path, like a parents' desth that made you quit your studies, for example.

I did jump up and look but there was nothing. I live in the middle of nowhere. I'm not sure what it could've been. Nobody else woke up and the dog didn't bark.

Google dream interp shock, or noise, or explosion, things like that.
There is a lot of info out there but a common theme seems to be astral projection or sleep paralysis.

My dream last night has been haunting me all day. This woman was taunting me. I don't remember how but I know that I had an intense dislike for her. She kept saying "everyone thinks you're soooo sweet but I knew it was just an act". I wanted to kill her. I was trying but she kept getting away. I threw her off a building and was sure she was dead but when I looked down, there was no body. She was gone!
I was jolted awake by a very loud crash. It sounded like a car accident. It seemed so real that I actually looked out my window expected to see it. My heart was pounding so hard and fast. It felt like it was going to jump out of my chest. It took a long time to settle down and fall back asleep.
