About two weeks ago I tasted caviar for the first time at a sushi place with my brother. The texture was like eating little tiny black blueberries. They popped in my mouth. They tasted tart. Im not sure why people actually spend money on caviar. It was an odd sensation in my mouth but nothing tasty if you ask me.

You have to take into account the rarity/scarcity of the particular fish it comes from....some fish are rare, and the rowe that it comes from is also, and when too much of the fish is caught, they must be allowed I believe a 'season' or some increment of time to replenish their numbers....and so any rowe the fish produces will be rather expensive....
