Control freak
It really depends on the situation... But, the end result is, no one likes to left in the dark. It's a bit rude and disrespectful... Why would you want to keep them unaware anyway? As for becoming a control-freak in the aftermath... I don't know... For me, it's more of a disappointment than trying to control what is not controllable.
