Gave him 1 week. Good or bad idea?

I'm surrounded by Gem men, and I attract them like a magnet.

This Gem guy and I have been talking for a while and it started quickly, super fun and all. But then it changed and he didn't know what he wanted anymore, yet didn't wanna lose me because he loves me, but isn't ready to settle, because his inner Gem is freaking out, still wanna be free and he's scared because he got hurt before and all that. Yet, have strong feelings for me.

So, last night I told him to take a week off from me, no contact see if he misses me or can live without me no problem. Not an ultimatum or anything like that, but time for himself to think. Because we talk all the time and I wanted him to retreat and think. He said he knew he would contact me hours after starting the break, because he sees me as the one in his life.

So, Gemini wise. What do you think about breaks like that? Do you see them as good or bad?

always a good idea with gemini to test with distance, ignoring, or lack of response.
if he really is into you and you start with that i can guarantee you he will not make it..
he may even text/call more for his own reassurance.
idk what it is with geminis (incl myself), but most just like to test people by playing, in their head atleast,
the " what would happen if i say.. " game.
hands down though, he will make an effort if he feels like he is losing you.
