Why do Geminis do this? Especially in relation to romantic interests and relationships?

e.g- lying about characteristics of an ex or yourself and why it didn't work out

p.s- i've seen mainly the men do this in attempt i guess to help them get over their ex

Well no point dwelling on the good days if there isn't a future with them... I would say remembering the bad days isn't bad, as long as we don't make up stories to make them look bad or affect their reputation.

yeah

i mean i'm just rewriting the facts about her and even the current person she is dating

to help me detach in my head

i've since renamed her ( amy gonzalez)

changed to her star sign - she's now a virgo

musical interests ( e.g- she now loves taylor swift and country music)

and she is now a trump supporter from chicago

though i know these things aren't necessarily true i think they illustrate an important truth that i need to keep at the forefront of my mind to help me move on which is that

the person that i fell in love wasn't exactly real.....i fell in love with my projections i conjured up of who i thought she was and not what was really there

she was a different person than i thought she was when we met and even a different person now two years later

I lie when I don't have the care or respect for someone to tell the truth. Like someone demanding to know something that's none of their business or to a complete stranger about something I don't want to discuss

Sometimes I lie about stupid things when I'm forced to small talk.

I also lie when people nag me about things, to get them off my back

I have lied before to take a day off work

I don't believe those things to be true though

yeah i meant more like

in the case of my uncle who made up things about his leo ex regarding compatibility and the ultimate reason why they didn't work out

which was really due to his infidelity.

i had another gemini coworker who dated this other coworker i knew before

and it was basically a similar story

It can happen to anyone...that whole falling in love with who we think we see instead of the real person.

it's basic psych 101

we can never truly know a person...... we can only know our interpretation of who we think they are

which is based on our own subjective experiences we had interacting with other human beings since birth.

they were super compatible (in terms of her tolerance for putting up with his s h i t)

he just fudged up twice ( got the same sidepiece pregnant twice and had two children by her) while they were dating.

you would think she would break up with him for good after the numerous DUIs or definitely after the first kid he had with her sidepiece

but no

she took him back
