So how do I make it right again? What I said was mean and below the belt because I was angry about his "vague" I guess believable answer to my question. Certainly didn't call for me to come back with what I did considering he said it was a sensitive topic 24 hours ago. I could hear the disappointment in his voice when I said it. I said I was kidding on the phone but he got off pretty quickly. I followed up with a "I'm sorry text" since he was walking back into the office. Haven't heard from him since. This has only happed one other time but what I said wasn't as harsh. So he can either be over it, or pissed. What do you think? If he is pissed how can I get us past it?

Thanks in advance!

Forthelove. Next time try not to hit below the belt because yes it's the people we care about who leave the deepest cut when they utter hurtful words. So in future just say it in your head and try and talk to him in a rational way. When someone i care for verbally hurts me. I'll forgive but when I reach my breaking point I'll just switch off and detach. It's not the best reaction but its a self preservation machanism.
