so now i don't know what to do, to play cat and mouse with her seems kind of dangerous because she doesn't know me that well, she doesn't know much about me, and there's a lot of things about me im sure she would like, she hasn't experienced my feelings towards her to want them back and chase after me, you know what i'm mean? so i really dont know how to get her after all. Should i just kiss her when im close and were doing something..because when im close it is SO hard to resist shes so gorgeous and smart, for people like her i would do literally anything, i know it sounds insane but i am a giver and id give anything as long as i felt that she is mine and i was hers

Am I so freaking old that I didn't realize young folks don't date any longer? That's how we used to get to know each other back in the 1990's...we went on dates : ) it doesn't have to be a huge event, hell ask her out for coffee or whatever it is you enjoy.
Asking her out for coffee is a great idea! You want her to get to know you, and from what you say it sounds like she'd be interested in getting to know you. Taking her out to coffee is a great setting for that. Plus, most gems I know loove to have a great conversation so this could be a great date for her.

If you just march up to her and ask her to do something physically with you there are a lot of reasons she could say no. Let's try a few things first that may not offer up as much instant gratification, but will be more memorable and will give you plenty of insight.
You said you both enjoy scientific type things.... why don't you download one and put in on a disc for her? Give it to her the next time you see each other and comment how you remembered your conversation and knew she would like it. Or maybe check out a book from the library and then loan it to her, tell her you marked an article in it with a post it that you just knew she'd enjoy (I may even write something darling on the post it, but we can chose what you do first and then decide that).
These are the type of things that show your interest, guarantee a conversation later and above all give her time to think (and if there is someone else compare you and reflect on how darn sweet you were 🙂 ).
It's too darn bad you hadn't come earlier because I'd say watching the shuttle take off on Friday would have been an excellent first hang out!

If I'm ignoring a guy with whom I used to have conversations, it's because (1) I'm attracted to him and am flustered (2) I've picked up on the fact that he likes me and am avoiding. I actually don't think I wrote that very clearly. I meant (1) I like the guy and am tongue-tied or (2) I'm not interested, or only just a bit interested, and am trying to avoid him so that he'll get over his attraction without my having to shoot him down or that he'll leave me alone (romatically-speaking) until I've had time to decide if I'm interested.

thats exactly what happened, that first day and few other times she was all lightened up excited interested, and few last times including today we were doing some calculations and she never looked or if she did it was a glance, she was fully concentrated on the calculations though she had to hand it in in 30 minutes, but yeah, i dont think i need to watch out for that we have too many things in commong to have that kind of problem lol, i hope.

Look for what chance? the more you hesitate/wait, the more artificial all is going to come across. Just make it happen, spontaneously..just like that. Dont overthink it. Just make it seem casual, you already like spending time with one another..so in a way you already have a bit of an advantage. Surprise her, no need for any more waiting.
