In your case, you jumping the gun and overreacting and dumping over him referring to his ex as a current gf is a fine example. There's also self-projection there. I've noticed that paranoia and insecurity within people who do a lot of relationship hopping. They think everyone is like them, juggling multiple lovers or relationship hopping like them. Tsk.
