I am 40 years old and people think I am 20 and treat me like I am even younger than 20....and it bothers me so much. I behave and act my age and respect everyone around me. They assume immediately that I don't know anything or come to conclusions of some stupid thing and scold me like I am a 15 year old.
Sad part is that they are ALWAYS wrong in the end.

This is mostly about people from work , not friends but anyone I have worked for/with.
Maybe I used the word “hate” in the incorrect form. Perhaps “dislike” it’s a more suitable word for this. Yes , it happens a lot.

One time my niece said that she wished she could have been there to hold me when I was a baby, because she bet I was just so cute. This is what happens when an old soul child interacts with me, I guess.

I'm 45 and to this day am always treated as the rascally child or the bright up and comer in every group. Sometimes I'll be the oldest one in the group and still get treated this way. I've fully embraced it and love the role. I giggle at all the advice I get from children.

This are things that have happened to me. I have embraced it but there are times when people don’t respect me at all as an adult.
You have to pick battles. When I was a kid I had a bit of a Cassandra complex because I could see so many things so clearly but no one listened. First I was shy, and then on top of that, young and unassuming. But what I learned is to let go of ego about that. About unsolicited advice made on the assumption you don’t know things, etc. sometimes I’ll be patiently and politely listening to something I already know or know better than and still learn something useful. I have also learned to cut people off when necessary and to refuse to make excuses for myself.

I agree. And I can relate to you 100% . I feel like INFPs have a strong intuition and are empaths .
People tend to think I don’t know how to do things but they have absolutely no idea of how I work or my experience. I usually do like you do, I let them talk and agree and nod , etc. I try to be polite....

Aaahhh... yeah, that makes more sense. They sometimes do trainings on personality tests at work & school - so it was the only place I could see people talking about it as a group, or so often. Thanks for clarifying!
