On Wednesday I forgot sunblock before work. 6 hours of direct sunlight during 95 degree weather with little shading.
Thursday night it had become apparent that the extensive sunburn was not only a burn... but was a second degree burn. I realized how serious it had become when taking a shower to rinse the wounds. I screamed the entire 2 minutes I rinsed my shoulders; I've NEVER felt pain like that before in my life. And it surprised me when my Capricorn mother handed me a Vicodin afterwards. She never would do that to be honest.
I have sun blisters on my shoulders - two have swelled and popped. I went to the ER for wound dressings.. they also gave me Vicodin too.
Needless to say.. this Insomniac has been napping all weekend with the Vicodin!

my daughter (aries) burnt the backs of her legs yesterday really badly. you could tell where she had sunblock on the front of her legs and that she'd forgotten the back which was angry and red by the time she got home. i've got olive skin and very rarely burn but i always wear sunblock nevertheless. i had radiotherapy on my chest a few years back which caused some serious burns and i used almost pure aloe vera in a gel form on that as recommended by the hospital. i've bought it ever since to use for burns...particularly sun burn. i put some on the backs of my daughter's legs and it kind of creates a cooling film over the skin meaning that she was good to go out again last night for one of spain's biggest fiestas.
the one thing to watch out for when you get burned is that it can make you quite unwell and it can become sunstroke which is nasty. you need to take it easy while your skin's healing huntress. you poor thing. horrible innit.
i wonder if your scorp has suggested it's best for you to remain naked til it's all healed up 😛
Although, admittedly I've been shoving Scorpio away because it hurts so freaking bad. Phew, I'm a bit of a masochist but this is a bit much.. even for me. Called out of work twice. Mostly because I didn't want open wounds near 50 dogs, lmao.
Swimming - my Leeb father is a redhead with the most ruddy complexion! And damn those Leebs, of course he's dreadfully handsome and charming as well! You must have SPF 95+ handy!
Capgirl.. I am red with jealousy (tehehe!). I enjoy those loooonnnngggg naps after the sun too. My Cap mother and I both come home after basking in the light, drop our bags, and BARELY make it to the bed.. passing out. Best thing about Summer.. definitely the naps..
my girl is peeling now but not in pain. just a little strange and patchy looking LOL.
i have the opposite problem yielding similar results cos i go brown almost visibly as soon as sun hits my skin. consequently, i start the year with a really tanned left arm cos i have it out the car window when i'm driving plus i get any straplines from whatever i'm wearing during sunlight hours lol. if i do ever sunbathe, i have to negotiate myself into a strange yoga position to get the less brown bits browner. kinda like playing twister in the sunshine. hate it. everything's a different shade of brown. quite frankly, i wish i could just be pale and interesting instead. i'm gonna start wearing a sombrero.
