Leo Man not in love yet??

I have been dating this leo (7/27/73) Moon in Leo, Mercury in cancer, Venus in Virgo, Mars in Aries.
We have been on and of more than I can count (dating 2+ years). But he always comes back. This last time, we had a 4 month break. I asked him if he was all in. He said yes.
Here we are 5 months later, and things have been good. I could feel things different. Not as affectionate. I have brought it up to him and all he says is he is trying.
This last weekend.. I just broke down and cried. He consoled me best he could, But just kept saying that he was working on it. It was like he was working on a project and I keep tapping on the door bothering him... asking him if he is done.
He said he wants to work on it, and I hope we can. This is the same thing that tore us up last time. I am trying to be optimistic but I am scared.
Can any leo's help with this?

Seems like his should be Cancer.

Sorry if it sounds confusing. The situation kinda is. Its like he hits this mental block. I have been hoping this last time was just that.
I do love him and we have some much in common. I am just torn.
I am just praying things come to be.

Based on the time and natal chart I did I think it's correct.
Can you shed any light on the situation?
He and I have been friends for 20 years. He keeps saying he wants to make it work. And even after my crying, he is still texting me.
I am just trying to NOT push him. Its just frustrating.

I agree, last time he took a break from me he came back and said he is commit-phobic.
I thought we were all past this.
I am waiting to see how it all pans out. I do love him.
