Doesn't Wanna Come off as Desperate?

Long story short, I met this Libra man (venus in Scorpio,Sag Moon and rising, Mars Leo) a couple weeks ago. He's my friends friend. Everytime I'm with him, he acts like he likes me. He can't get his hands off me, and he kisses me, and holds my hand, and hugs me, and stares at me constantly. He told me he really likes hanging out with me, and he likes me.

But when we're apart he barely contacts me, and when he does text, it's very short. He'll text me like once a week, and takes forever to reply to my texts. My friend asked him why he barely texts me, and he says he doesn't want to come off as desperate. He doesn't come off as desperate AT ALL lol. I'm starting to feel like he's not really into me. I've never dealt with a Libra, so I don't know how they act when they like someone.
