Help! Lib sun with can moon man blows hot and cold

I'm cancer sun with Gemini moon and he's libra sun and cancer moon.
So we've been building up our relationship over the past 2 years. Started as friends and then became something much deeper. We're both in other relationships, so for ages I kept running away from it, and he's been a player in the past. (We worked together for 10 years) I laid it on the line by email a year ago, saying what I felt for him (we'd had one kiss so appreciate this was full on!)
Anyway he said he would reply but then blanked me till just before Christmas when he texted and said that he'd written a reply but couldn't send it. A few months later we met up again and had a great evening together (nothing happened).
We have been in email and text contact and went out a few weeks ago. where he was quite full on about how he felt: he really cared about me, couldn't stop thinking about me, really wanted me, loved my dress, my hair, my coat!!! Thinks he's found the person he wants to spend the rest of his life with but what do you do, etc.
all good you'd think.
So why has he gone quiet on me. Not heard from him in 3 weeks, no text or email.
Blowing hot and cold drives me mad.
Any advice? Help?!

thank you - I know I need a reality check. And I am in a much better place than I was. I'm normally very together and sensible in relationships but somehow with this one all logic has left me. I guess I liked what I was hearing, and believed it.
There's nothing like someone completely independent quoting you back to make see how things really are!

It's that freaking Libran charm. 😢
