Posted by MonkeyInTheMoonthat was my first answer being a Taurus - I told him all I wanted was him - and we laughed about him being all wrapped up in a red bow - but then I said, just to spend the day together would be special ...Posted by tcta
new Libra man who has come into my life and we are building our friendship first asked me what I want from Santa - I'm thinking - gee, I like people to sort of figure that out on their own and surprise me - but think again, he's a Libra so I'm sure he can't possibly make that decision ... so ...
what does DXP think if I suggest perfume - but he has to smell them all until he finds one he likes and pick that one for me ... ?
good idea or any other ideas ...
Probably he just doesn't know you that good yet and doesn't like to disappoint you. I'd just hint him towards something you like in general. Maybe tell him books are ok, or perfume or whatever you fancy. Of course him being a libra the first answer to that question should be something like spending some special time with him - something less material and more partnership orientated, like going to some event. Then you go on with the gifts 😉click to expand

Posted by jeaneawwww - but he has you - you are the best present in the world - everything else just come next ...
I asked this year. I still don't think I've got the best present. Like jane, I take this shit seriously. I want to make him so happy he cannot wipe the smile off his face because I got him the most amazing present in the world.
Normally I look for clues or think about what we have spoken about and go from there. This year I was a bit stumped.

I find it much easier to buy someone a gift than to choose something for myself.

Posted by tizianithanks - all good stuff - I am used to only doing presents for the children
Mostly I talk about it with people beforehand, like he did. It probably boils down to whether someone prefers to be surprised or not. I'm ok knowing what I'm getting beforehand. My family and I all discuss it for months, because we don't know what to get each other and truthfully, don't really have much need for anything. I think we talk it out just to avoid all the holiday/birthday pressure beforehand.
The best gift someone gets me every Christmas is a six-pack bottle of Crabbies ginger beer.
Your perfume idea sounds good. Or you can always mention a name/label of anything you like - clothing, perfume, etc. - and just let them surprise you from then on with what item they choose.

Posted by tctaI agree with Tiz. Also, maybe mention the type of scents you like... floral, light, musky etc.Posted by tizianithanks - all good stuff - I am used to only doing presents for the children

Posted by FleshpotI think it's a good idea, perfume is a nice and romantic gift for a budding relationship. He must like you 🙂Posted by tctaI agree with Tiz. Posted by rockyroadicecreamyes there are more romantic implications - but I prefer to get to know someone really well first and develop a strong friendship
You're asking a guy whom you're developing a "friendship" with for perfume?
That's just weird, sorry.
If there's more romantic implications, it's fine, but you need to clearly define what kind of "friendship" this is.

Posted by TheCanBullI know right ... thank you! some people just don't get that - I like quiet and peaceful holidays where I can spend the day just loving every grateful moment ...Posted by tctaPosted by MonkeyInTheMoonthat was my first answer being a Taurus - I told him all I wanted was him - and we laughed about him being all wrapped up in a red bow - but then I said, just to spend the day together would be special ...Posted by tcta
