Soul Searching
No it's been something that I've had all my life...I dont have money problems and could easily buy a business or go into some kind of venture but i have no idea what I want to do either! I'm not passionate about anything and have never been passionate about anything more than 50% so nothing grabs me and makes me want to go for it!
Everything else in my life is great, I love myself but not completely because i feel like I'm not doing anything. The worst is when people ask what I do, and I dont do anything...and whats more even if I was doing something it's not as if it'd be something i'd be completely passionate about!
So I understand where you are coming from, trick is to find something you really want and then give it a shot.

Angeleyes, I agree with what Sweethearts has said. I'm the same - I've never had a work-related passion or found a vocation. Also, like Sweethearts I mostly love who I am but, career-wise, there's a void - a feeling of having underachieved. Yet, saying underachievement isn't correct because I've always worked, and performed well/achieved in whatever I've done. Hmmmm. Maybe I mean unfulfilled? I feel unfulfilled in that area of life? Yes, that's it. I'm happy in every other aspect of my life/who I am/decisions I've taken just not career-wise.
Perhaps you should consult a careers advisor - no guarantee it will help, but it just MIGHT help you focus or introduce you to the idea of careers you hadn't considered!!

Ive done this too. Several times... Thats the curse of thinking too much I guess. I dont understand how people are able to do jobs they hate for 50 yrs. My grandpa was like this, so is my grandma... I think this is a common Libra thing. I contemplate and over analyze everything. I feel like my purpose and my worth is directly related to what I do and how I do it sometimes. I have been passionate about a lot of things but I have tried them all, or all that I can. Angel and I share the need for a purpose driven life. I grew up in a family that worked hard at jobs that they didn't like but they accepted that as a part of life and they no-one took me seriously for chasing passions.
Even though I love what I do now I don't feel like it is my purpose. Sometimes I feel like my purpose is just to love someone unconditionally and raise my family in an honorable way. Sometimes I feel this and the need to go out and change the world somehow.
The hard thing about this world we live in for me is seeing and knowing that our cultures and societies are an attempt to make a completely subjective experience an objective one. But on no level that these conditions and rules affect is it true at the end of all of this.
Even though I love what I do now I don't feel like it is my purpose. Sometimes I feel like my purpose is just to love someone unconditionally and raise my family in an honorable way. Sometimes I feel this and the need to go out and change the world somehow.

Haha, yep I'm exactly the same...maybe it is the Libra thing. It's so much more comfortable than having to exert yourself.
But really Angel, ask around and who really is happy in their lives completely? They might enjoy their work but are they happy at home? Or they love their home life but are unfulfilled at work. Similarily, the single want to find someone and settle down, the married love the life of their single friends.
I guess what I'm telling you and myself is at some point you have to realise how fortunate we really are...you have a job, it's security and in the most recent times so many people lost their jobs and have had to struggle financially. There are hardly any jobs going here, work is very scarce but fortunetly for me it's not a necessity but a desire.
Sometimes when we start looking too hard for something we never see it even when it is right under our noses...
All that said, I'm still looking for something too, I think you just have to realise it can take time so dont let it get you down 🙂

There are hardly any jobs going here, work is very scarce but fortunetly for me it's not a necessity but a desire.

As much as you are a couple Nic, this is an individual thing something that you cant fullfil for her. Maybe she appreciates your imput (but shouldn't it be in private) I'm not saying she doesnt but I personally find you are like my ex and smothering...

Whoa I think your still overly sensitive to it then. I was responding to the topic in general like everyone else. You don't know me personally like your ex and nor I him so that is irrelevant.

I didnt take it as him trying to give me advice, I think he was just stating his experience on the matter. We have talked about this in private and He Gave me advice in private that sounded nothing like he stated here... he actually said, he wants to work as hard as he can and be the provider so that I can have time to figure out exactly what it is I want to do. Nico is not a smothering person at all. He is actually a very liberating person to be around.

I am very fortunate! I have beautiful thiings and a beautiful family all of which I work very hard to maintain. Yes, there are people who are much less fortunate than I, But that is there own choice. Jobs are hard to find, so I created my own. I do recognize what I have as being amazing but there is nothing stopping me from wanting more and I belive I HAVE THE POWER to do it, but I just need to figure Out what it is that I want to do.

Take it from a 20 year experience (I never saw it coming either)...yes it starts that way and yes she will make all the excuses...but you are trying to reassure her about her insecurities when she is asking for public opinion is what I see & the reassurance of the family perhaps being her worth!
Even if do go ahead with the family Angel, always keep your mind on wanting to further yourself and find that special thing in your life that will make you feel completely happy with yourself. Kids are wonderful but they grow up and become little people and soon enough dont need you anymore and then you are left older and still trying to find yourself. I've experienced it first hand but it's such a common thing, alot of women by the time their child is going to school are at a loss as to what to do with themselves so some have more kids to allow more time and before you know it you've reached middle age and still have the same problem!
I dont mean to be offensive Nic, it's an individual soul searching thing. Being behind her 100% is great, just dont make it about you. It's not just my own experience I get this from, it happens all around the world and is so much more common than you realise!

And the WHAT is the hardest question to answer for some... I think it comes down to what makes you happy and makes you feel good about yourself. For some they paint and love what they acheive there. i always revert to writing lists of what I like cooking, socialising, working out, blah blah blah and then think what I can put to work and make money from.

I will admit this has been a hard month. I had a really bad fall at the beginning of the month and I haven't been the same since. Lots of old stuff coming up that I haven't thought of in YEARS and thought I was completely over. Thank you Merc retrograde. lol!
This is what I suspect is true for me and perhaps there is some truth in it for you that you can take from it.
I need to run in five directions at once. If I have five different things that I am working on or towards I am much, much more stable and happy then when I focus on ONE thing. If you are feeling unbalanced, you may want to check to make sure you are focusing on everything not just one or two areas of your life.
I have the odd situation of being good at a LOT of things. Whereas most people would see this as a blessing, it is actually a double edge sword because it means I can go in a lot of different directions. Instead of having one path, I have many I can choose from so I just kind of sit there.
When I get lost, I try not to ask the question WHO AM I?!?!?! Instead I ask who do I WANT to be? Then I just allow the ideas to come to me. (I usually do this as a writing exercise cause it gets me out of my head more. Sometimes it is really surprising to hear the answers.) I try not to worry about if I change myself will it change my reality. Instead I try to focus on what I want instead of who it will effect.
I suspect most people are unfufilled in their careers. I think it is because people confuse PURPOSE with job/career. Soul purpose is generally very different than job/career.
Not sure if ANY of this will help but take comfort in knowing everyone is searching for something. I think other people get in our heads and we get confused about there truth verses our own. When it happens, try to go back to your map of who do you want to be. Knowing what we want can actually be VERY difficult as funny as that sounds. September 7th - September 29th. Usually there are a couple of days before and a couple of days after. According to the site I looked at the effects could last till October 14. Apparently this one was in our sign so maybe that made it worse? I dunno. But yeah ... this has been a weird month for me. Lots of people and situations from the past, weird communication things, lots of inner reflection .... I have really felt the effects of mercury this time.
