Where is the Balance?

I have known my libra husband for 7 years. Dated 5 been married for 2. And in those years I have never paid for a meal or any other things we go out and get (ice cream, coffee, etc) The only time I get to do something for him is when I cook or make it myself. I mean I can buy him gifts and things like that, which he love and its fine. But sometimes I want to treat him to Dairy Queen, buy him a drink at the bar, or pay for the pizza. The only way I can pay for the pizza is if I order it online myself.

I AM NOT COMPLAINING! just to make that clear.😐 I would like to treat him sometimes. I thought libras like that kind of stuff. Someone making them feel special, you know. If i try to insist that I pay for our $ 3 ice cream cones I get a look like this:


Then I put my little $ 6 back in my clutch and go sit down.

Why cant I treat sometimes?

I have asked him, he just says: "Thats not the way it works babe"
Thats it, thats all I get!

Maybe that's how they are. As for making him feel special, mine liked normal things like when I gave him massages, rubbed his hair & when I lay on his back.

I told him before, that I consider us a team and I will always have his back. he just said, "yea I know you do" thats it.

It's that whole extravagant thing that they have going on. They love the beauty, luxury, and good things in life. They have no problem dropping the cash on it to do so, even when that includes the S.O. That, and it makes some feel so big and important that they're throwing around cash like that.

All the ones I've been involved with were the same way- insisted on paying, regardless of what status I had with them. I also had to find ways to cover things when I wanted to. One way around it was that the place didn't take cards, only cash. So I gladly finally got to pay, haha. Another one, I just snuck it in there since it was his birthday.

I think a bit of ego is involved, too. That whole "I'm man, she woman, I need to take care of her/be the man and foot the bill."

I dunno, doesn't surprise me that they do this, given all the Libran tendencies.

Yeah, just give him love. Also scorpio moon likes a bit of cray-cray. Life must not be too mundane or it gets boring. A fight can be a huge turn on lol. Almost all the Libra guys I've known have been like what the OP mentioned, if they had the means to do so, of course. Regardless of sign, a guy who's into a girl and has some sort of decency, wants to take care of her like that.

My ex would speak of being "too cheap" to do certain things and on occasion bitch about finances. The guy makes 6 figures a year, blows money on his expensive hobbies without batting an eye. The other day, he was going on about hesitating about buying a house because it would do ...whatever to his finances. He just doesn't want to leave his 500mo room rent and take on a full blown house payment. He doesn't want to lose his shit ton of disposable income.

But he was trying to get all cheapo and save money when he and his now ex girlfriend tried to weasel in on my Disney trip, trying to get her signed in for free and shit, haha.

Overall, I think it's just a lot of talk and shit. They want to spend money on frivolous things that they want, and if it's not something they really want to do/or be responsible for, they pull the cheapo card.

Of course, again, this mostly seems to apply to the unbalanced group that makes everyone look bad. I don't see stuff like this from the ones who are actually grown up and act like it.

Chem, one last tip since you got me started on this lol.

This guy is your husband & you live together so it might not be needed. But you can do it while you're both at your respective jobs. Anyway, when my ex & I were not living together, I'd send him a message saying, for the next 7 or whatever days I'll give you 1 reason why I love you. The 7th being boring & make it steamier & steamier as the numbers go up. #1 being HOT. I'm an aqua so I dont live up to my promises most of the time & I'd be bored by #5 or forget & this guy would beg me or remind me of his message.

He slept with his phone off, that's just how he was because he didnt like to be disturbed while sleeping. So anyway, I'd wait until I knew his phone was off to leave a voicemail of me singing whatever love song I felt like singing. He loved the voicemails lol. Thought I was the next Idols. LMAO.

Lastly, sometimes just before he went to sleep & switched off his phone, I'd send him a "bedtime story" 😉. Something naughty. He admitted that these turned him on.

Exactly! It's all priorities!! They have plenty of disposable income for their things, but when it comes to romance or object of their affection, they become cheap. My ex had all the money to spend on a $ 2k DSLR camera while I was being the understanding gf due to all the sob stories he told me. Yea its does hurt when they serving you that shit and they come to your house and your pulling out your best. She came over last weekend and I had bottle water out in the cooler for everyone to get. I had food spread out on the table, telling everyone to help themselves. Then we go over her house and its tap water thats not even cold. my husband was like, "well damn can I get some ice cubes, this shit is warm." It was 88 degrees outside.

My Pisces friend was asking me when I was free to do birthday celebration stuff. He said he'd wanted to know because he wanted to do some sort of little shindig thing. Okay, cool. So I set up some plans with that group of friends. It was bowling and dinner later.

We all go, and he doesn't even play, nevermind I ended up paying for myself (nobody offered). ..okie doke. Later on, we went out to eat and I thought maybe he'd pick up the tab. Nope. I paid for myself.

Wow, okay. I dunno about anyone else, but I pick up tabs for the birthday friend. So it just left me a bit perplexed. It was the most unbirthday birthday I'd had in awhile.

Turns out he didn't have any money to go bowling with and barely had enough for dinner. ...which is understandable since he doesn't have a job, but he'd spent a bunch of money on his hobby stuff a few days prior. It just baffled me since he was all talk about wanting to do something nice for my birthday and he fell flat. Why? Because he spent it all on himself.

My Sag brother did that the first Christmas he was with his girlfriend. Dropped all sorts of cash on her, but suddenly didn't have enough to do any Christmas shopping for my mom or I (after asking what we wanted the month prior). Nevermind this was the same year that she'd been diagnosed with cancer and it had been a rough year for she and I, and it's "oh I don't have enough money to get you guys anything. I spent it all on my girlfriend." OH OKAY. WHY DID YOU ASK??

He's in love with you and wants to provide. It's a good thing, but I see where you're coming from. My girlfriend a Libra. She wants to pay for things, but I hate when she does. One night (after I repeatedly told her no) she actually confronted me about it directly, so I knew it was really important to her. She said she just wants to use some money on me because she loves me as well. After hearing her out, I decided that she earned her money and that I need to respect that and allow her to show her love that way as well. Perhaps you should just explain that to him.

I have known my libra husband for 7 years. Dated 5 been married for 2. And in those years I have never paid for a meal or any other things we go out and get (ice cream, coffee, etc) The only time I get to do something for him is when I cook or make it myself. I mean I can buy him gifts and things like that, which he love and its fine. But sometimes I want to treat him to Dairy Queen, buy him a drink at the bar, or pay for the pizza. The only way I can pay for the pizza is if I order it online myself.

I AM NOT COMPLAINING! just to make that clear.😐 I would like to treat him sometimes. I thought libras like that kind of stuff. Someone making them feel special, you know. If i try to insist that I pay for our $ 3 ice cream cones I get a look like this:


Then I put my little $ 6 back in my clutch and go sit down.

Why cant I treat sometimes?

I have asked him, he just says: "Thats not the way it works babe"

He's in love with you and wants to provide. It's a good thing, but I see where you're coming from. My girlfriend a Libra. She wants to pay for things, but I hate when she does. One night (after I repeatedly told her no) she actually confronted me about it directly, so I knew it was really important to her. She said she just wants to use some money on me because she loves me as well. After hearing her out, I decided that she earned her money and that I need to respect that and allow her to show her love that way as well. Perhaps you should just explain that to him.

It's an earth sign or earth dominant chart thing. My Capri mother, who I love to death, is very good with money but unfortunately, she's very strict with how she uses her money though. She deprives herself of the lil things she wants like a nice top or pair of pants. However, she spends her money on bigger things like investing in a property plus having a nice, new car. I can't quite call her a penny pincher like Virgos, but definitely strict with her money.

Earth signs overall are strict with how they spend their money. Virgo is just ridiculously stingy while Tairus and Capricorn would just rather invest money on bigger things like (house, car) that give them either sense of prestige or something back economically such as a house.

If you "go to the bathroom" while at a bar and come back with a surprise drink for him, do you think he would be upset? You may consider this. You obviously know him better than I do, that could blow up in your face. Not sure what kind of a guy he is. He may like it.

LOL i did do this before, but he came back from the bathroom with a drink in hand. he stopped by the bar before he came back to the table. He was like who's is that, I was like mine. I HATE VODKA. He just gave me this weird look then I told him I wanted to dance.

He wont be pissed. We are suppose to go out to lunch today, I suggested this place that doesnt take credit cards. He has no money in his wallet. I checked. So my plan is going good so far. When he finally gets dressed we can go.

you know what when my mother in law put her mom (cap) in a assisted living home. It was in January of this year. They were having a birthday for all the people born in January, it was atleast 30 people in there that were caps and 3 aquas. LOL They penny pitch all the way to retirement.

They're the type that'll empty all the leftovers into their pockets...making themselves feel intelligent for "saving" a buck that way. +100000 they are greedy and they save their money as if looking at how much they've saved in their bank account gives them a sense of relief.

When I worked at a bank, I came across a *drum eoll* Virgo woman with my sister's bday. I was blown away at how much money this lady had!!! The bank was insured $ 100k per client in case of bankruptcy. This lady had $ 500k in her account and in our 2 hr convo on the phone, she wanted to bring in another $ 500k. She and I had a professional yet it was personal at the same time. During this time she mentioned that she had no children because she diet want them. I asked so what would happen with the money if you died. She said her twin sister had 2 kids who would inherit. In my head I'm thinking "lucky sobs for inheriting that much overnight. Who wouldn't want an aunt like that!" She was so happy with her heart to heart that she was gonna come in with the other 500k the next day and wanted to personally meet me. Now I'm picturing a lady in nice, fancy, expensive clothes or jewelry. When I met her the next day, I was in awe!! She was dressed like a hobo and never in a million yrs would anyone think that this lady had 100k invested in a bank. I told my mom this story and she was like "this lady became rich by depriving herself, not by spending money on her attire".

the unknown rich people. when i was younger my dad (Scorpio) and I would go downtown to the festival. I saw a homeless man. I was about to give him a $ 1 my dad stopped me and told me to give it to the other homeless man. My dad told me when you are down here never give that man money. I thought my dad was being mean. So when I got older that man was still on the streets. I was meeting my mom at work so we can go school shopping I think I was 14. I walked in the bank were my mom was filling out a withdrawl slip. The homeless man was filling out a deposit slip. I looked he was depositing a check from a brokerage company for $ 10,000.
