Would he choose me?

Hola! So it's this thing with a libra guy i mentioned in my previous post. We study in the same university,in the same class.We both are highly studious and he has never been in a relationship before.We decided to take things slow as he wasn't ready to be in a relationship so soon.He has always wanted a female best friend whom he can later get in a relationship with and he saw that in me.We have been really good friends for 10 months now and 2 weeks ago we confessed we like each other and would like to be in a relationship sometime in future and just take it slow now. We have that attraction,chemistry and goosebumps when near each other.Things were going all fine between us.However,now a big nightmare just struck 2 days ago. His family is a bit too strict and conservative.They are against the idea of being in a relationship during academic phase of life.Even mine share the same ideology but hey,the heart wants what it wants. He would delete our texts to stay safe but he would take 3 backups before deleting them.So he felt like reading our texts this past weekend and he left his phone without locking it.His mom got hold of our texts and booom!!! He told me about it and we both really freaked out.Yesterday he had "the" talk with his parents.He told them that he is a bit serious about me.They were extremely mad at him and they asked him to end things between us.He fought back angrily saying "it's my wish whatever i want to do.I wont stop talking to her" and they asked him to delete his whatsapp account.He didn't(made some excuse) and they said they'll monitor him if he's having a personal chat again. He told me this today.He also said that he cant betray his family's trust.I asked him if he's ending things so he said "i really don't know.I need some time to decide.It will take me time". He ignored/avoided me for the rest of the day. I could make out from his face that he wasnt his charming cheerful self and that he's occupied with thoughts.Even now he came online but he didn't msg me anything at all.

I know it's unwise to speculate but do you thing this guy will end things with me or find a way out to work out things between us?

His parents sound extreme. What religion/ethnicity are they?

We both are asians but mine arent as strict. They don't have too many reservations. I am just scared if he ignores me for days and then says we're over. X_X

Oh and his venus is scorp if that helps...

Venus in scorp is very needy. Where is your Venus?

I think he is old enough to make his own descions about dating and shouldn't allow his parents to influence him. If he is still living with his parents he should consider moving out since they are interfering in his life. Vry expensive for a student, but he could get roommate or rent a room for vry cheap. I could not respect a man that allowed his parents to decide who/ when he could date.

My venus is aquarius but I am not exactly the way the sites describe. He is not even 20.He obviously can't move out leaving his family. It's a culture thing. It's just that I am finding it tough to understand if he'd leave me or make things work out. I know it's pointless to speculate but i'd still like to see some libran opinions as to what you feel..

An update-

We met in college today and i could literally sense him avoiding me. He avoided me like plague.Then i called him out during lunch break and talked to him.I confronted him and he admitted he has been avoiding me.He said he's really really scared.His mom had gone out of station for some work and today she's returning back so he'll have Round 2 fight with his parents today.He said he's scared because his parents won in Round 1 and he's going crazy thinking of ways(not lies) to convince them to accept the relation we have. He said he's avoiding me because being around me makes him feel guilty and makes him feel like he's a bad person. He also said that irrespective of the outcome he hopes it wont affect our friendship.

Does he really have strong feelings for me? Would he have fought with his parents had he not had strong feelings for me? I heard a libra hates drama,conflicts and arguments.
