Yes, it does come off that way but is certainly more palatable than the alternative. It's being consistently conscious that we will all die, all have had misery...

Do I love you? Maybe.

But when Im asked, ā€œshould I love you?ā€ The answer is YES.

Loving one’s enemies doesn’t mean we have to love them as we love our parents, siblings, relatives and friends.

It means being kind, magnanimous to our enemies, lending help or assistance when needed, avoid fighting, be concerned about their welfare and well-being, appreciate the nice things they have. And we do these with sincerity.

It’s not an easy thing to do but when we’re able to do it, it is liberating.

I felt this when I provided assistance to the girl at the gym who always fights with me.

It actually feels good.
