My mother-in-law is a 16 year old stuck in a 64 year old's body who seems to constantly take revenge on me for stealing her son as if he's her property and I'm some side hoe. I ignore her and my maturity pisses her off even more. True story.

Lol, that’s a common theme played out in family dynamics I feel like. She probably has deeply seated issues with realization of her offspring growing up and leaving the nest. Mine is very similar in her actions about my brother.
Posted by Revengeis this a thread dedicated for me ? 😊
Lmao it could be!
Honestly forgot that dxp had a member named the same as the post topic. My apologies

She definitely has some extreme deep seated issue. The thing is she also has 2 daughters that are each 11+ years older than me and she worships her son-in-laws (so that they don't mistreat her daughters). So it's extremely psycho and sad how she comes after me when I'm like 4 decades younger than her.
Posted by Phantom_LimboI can't wait for someone to explain how revenge "works". Like, how do you know when you've been successful?
Apparently, there’s a whole subreddit of vengeful people who do. r/ProRevenge
Some of that shit in there is so dark, I’m a bit mortified. But then again, a lot of it is made up as well

I've always ascribed to the look good, feel happy, move forward philosophy as the best method for getting revenge.
But I know a chick who went through some drastic lengths to get her cheating ex, who gave her an std, locked up. Pretty premeditated shit.
Posted by tizianiI can't remember anything big, only petty stuff like pranks.
I've never regretted it but at the same time I can say revenge in itself didn't mean much.
It's a nice feeling for a while, but then it's "ok best to just sort what actually needs sorting now. Didn't actually achieve anything here."
yeah mine always ends up like ~~ I will have my revenge! ~~ and elaborate plots in my head... but nothing comes out of it, only pranks as you said.
There's always a good reason why I can't exact my revenge; looking back it's a positive intervention from somewhere, who knows where
