CC, that's the first article I found on it, as well, but I don't like the way it looks at things. I'm thinking there can be positives to all of these types, however, that list only really viewed alphas, betas, and sigmas positively. The rest were focused on their negatives. The definition aime gave of gamma was rather positive, for example, but that article paints them entirely differently. I'll have to look for another link.

One major problem with this Alpha-through-Omega classification system is that much of the criteria comes down to values; which vary per niche, per social strata & per culture.
Another obstacle to consider in terms of the effectiveness of these labels is that they are largely self-appointed. Many who refer to this system when it comes to self-appraisal, do not categorize themselves objectively nor accurately, but use it as a way to build themselves up and/or tear others down.
Generally-speaking, men self-identifying as "alpha-males" are analogous to women who rate themselves "tens" or dimes. In some cases they may be correct in their appraisal, while alternately, many appropriate these classification terms to further an agenda, stroke their own ego or convince others of their perceived superiority.
