It only takes one member to get Duncan's attention to see that action gets taken upon a thread now. It's not like how it used to be when it took the entire dxp nation to report a thread. This place is being monitored 5 days a week between the hours of 9 am to 5 pm Eastern time USA. Yes it's good as long as it benefits your politics. There may come a time when a fascist ideas take over, then let me know how good censorship is. Do you oppose certain restrictive policies of the Trump administration? It's the exact same thing. All they need is to come into full power and YOUR freedom is fucked and suddenly you can't speak openly bc you are on the wrng side. It's two sides of the same coin but you're too shortsighted and too young or just too fucking dumb.
How about this:
People get to speak their minds freely so we can have OPEN discussions. By being able to speak freely, YOU too have to benefit to present your arguments against them and potentially correct them, even educate them. By them not being allowed to speak freely, you are not actually fixing any (in this case) social issues, you are preventing a discussing to take place that organically needs to take place.
Imagine your friend is the liberal Tom Hanks yet privately he is a full fledged racist who is ultimately contributing to a systemic form of micro-racism behind the Hollywood curtains bc of his personal feelings that he cannot share because there are laws in place. What if he could speak his mind freely? Then you could have open arguments with him and ultimately choose not to mingle with him at all.
Censorship offers a bandaid. It doesn't actually prevent racism. It just makes it a covert thing so that the real racists can sneak under the radar. And why? Because your feelings get hurt.
Let me tell you.. if someone made a movie stereotypically portraying Bosnian shit I'd rather see it tell them how I feel about it , than them never making that movie in the first place. They would still hold those ideas, but not openly, and the discussion would never take place and that's a scary world to me.

I still don't see concrete examples of what you were talking about. Let's say it's as big a problrm as you say it is. The Asian community itself would call each other out on it, but I don't see any of that.
For example, the black community struggles with colorism - I personally don't see it. But I do see them calling each other out on it 🤷♂️🤷♂️ so that is one example of something wrong, misleading, unhealthy, whatever-within one community within one race.

As for "complaining about sth that has nothing to do with you", YES, that's what people used to do back when we could have discussions about shit. Not everything has to have something to do with you in order for you to open a discussion and come from wherever you're coming from. And also it does kind of have to do with me.
But what if it's plain curiosity or just observations and you just feel like shooting the breeze? Ppl still do those kind of things?

Second, you will get cancelled over any stupid fucking shit even it's literally a Freudian slip or you just didn't think to phrase it correctly bc you are talking in the moment.., or something you said 10 years ago on Twitter. I am having a really hard time taking racism seriousely in 2024. If the world is more racist it's bc race-peddlers are constantly talking about race.
How would YOU describe racism and we'll take it from there? Not the dictionary definition, but how far does it have to be taken in order for you not to be able to live and focus on your life? Like I said, racism will always be there as long as there are human beings, just like wars, famine and obesity so an Oxford definition of it is ultimately useless in relation to how supposedly difficult your life is due to it.

Systemic level
There are policies in place that prevent people from certain positions and rights, based on their race. It's pretty much an extinct practice in the West. Masturbation circles (see below) are normally mislabelled as examples of systemic racism.
There are huge risks associated with systemic racism so pulling such policies off in any shape or form today is pretty much unheard of. Slow beurocracy and lack of funds to take someone to court is not systemic racism. Furthermore, present day poverty stemming from race issues from the century before the last, is not systemic racism either. These are issues of culture and class, not race.
Individual level
Yes, everything from individuals being unhinged as in verbal or physical assaults, to individuals who hold higher positions (middle managment, CEOs) who actively or passivly disadvantage ppl of other races. You can also have several of such individuals in the same masturbation circle forming a kind of racist system within the system, though it is not "systemic" in the sense that there are no policies in place and anyone can at any time be questioned and taken to court. Also, perceiving something as racist based on one's own prejudice or feelings doesn't make it racism, as I have myself been in that position to "feel" looked down upon bc of my presumed background.
I am not sure if I got your question right and if that answers it.

Yeah I don't see real Asians calling out americanized nepo Asians. Unless it in any way shape or form affects their personal and everyday lives that require an overthrowing of an entire government, bickering about politics and meddling in other people's identity issues is such a non-Asian thing to do. And why would they call them out on it? It's not their responsibility to "set them straight". They are busy living their lives minding their own business being glorious.

In the broadest sense, and touching upon what the other thread was about, Asians across the board have a more practical and pragmatic approach towards most things in life.
In combination with being more relational... Japan and Korea being the exception in some sense, but I did mention my preference leaning towards Southeast Asia. J & K are cool in many ways but I wouldnt want to raise my kids there. They're culturally kind of colder and more detached, not unlike Scandinavians.
On a personal note...
(and in regards to Filipinos)
The dudes are fun without being obnoxious clowns, more secure in themselves and chill. Don't tend to socially overcompensate for any personal baggage they may have.
The women... same thing there, focus on positivity, friendly, good sense of humor, witty, curious and probing (bordering on nosey lol) : Makes me feel like I'm actually interacting with a person and not the jaded shadow of a person. Openminded. Cheeky yet appropriate and respectful. Dramatic at times, yet avoidant of deeper conflicts. Conservative without taking shit. Unpredictible in a good way. Unpretentious.
Also, they have that something that I'm instantly attracted to, it's just like instant physical chemistry (other than them being the opposite sex, that is, which in itself isn't always instant). But it probably just has to do with my personal preference.
That's off the top of my head.
Mind you this is my social circle, I know of course there are all types of people within a culture, but you cannot disregard the cultural aspect. Like when my now gf started going out on dates in Sweden she said most guys here seem extremely jaded and have deeprooted psychological issues and are depressing to the bonemarrow, which has been my experiece too, which is why I rarely sought out male friendships; there was that something I couldn't at all relate to or accept growing up among Swedes.
Next looking to get closer acquainted with Vietnamese culture and people.

On a personal note...
(and in regards to Filipinos)
The dudes are fun without being obnoxious clowns, more secure in themselves and chill. Don't tend to socially overcompensate for any personal baggage they may have.
The women... same thing there, focus on positivity, friendly, good sense of humor, witty, curious and probing (bordering on nosey lol) : Makes me feel like I'm actually interacting with a person and not the jaded shadow of a person. Openminded. Cheeky yet appropriate and respectful. Dramatic at times, yet avoidant of deeper conflicts. Conservative without taking shit. Unpredictible in a good way. Unpretentious.
Also, they have that something that I'm instantly attracted to, it's just like instant physical chemistry (other than them being the opposite sex, that is, which in itself isn't always instant). But it probably just has to do with my personal preference.
That's off the top of my head.
Mind you this is my social circle, I know of course there are all types of people within a culture, but you cannot disregard the cultural aspect. Like when my now gf started going out on dates in Sweden she said most guys here seem extremely jaded and have deeprooted psychological issues and are depressing to the bonemarrow, which has been my experiece too, which is why I rarely sought out male friendships; there was that something I couldn't at all relate to or accept growing up among Swedes.
Next looking to get closer acquainted with Vietnamese culture and people.

In combination with being more relational... Japan and Korea being the exception in some sense, but I did mention my preference leaning towards Southeast Asia. J & K are cool in many ways but I wouldnt want to raise my kids there. They're culturally kind of colder and more detached, not unlike Scandinavians.
