Canada 🇨🇦- the more you know!

Peoples initial view of Canada is typically close to the above. They assume Canada is filled with nice people, and they are not wrong...in general Canada is very nice but also extremely repressed (imo).

Since there are a few handfuls of Canadians on this forum, I figure why not answer some legitimate questions about Canada!

In general Canadians know that Americans don’t know much about us or care that we’re right there....

Example: on a cruise trip I landed in Florida and met a lovely lady who was helping me with directions and I mentioned that I’m from Canada and she asked “oh wow, where is that?” And I told her “our country is attached to your country from New York to Seattle....all along that border” and she genuinely did NOT believe me at all. She told me that she always believed that north of the USA was the sea and then eventually Russia. 🧐🤨

So I was curious. When I was on the cruise ship I was looking around in their library and found a few books intended for kids about America.

Y’all fucking use a grey colour to signify “void space” ........for ALL of Canada 🇨🇦 lol 😂

That’s when I knew y’all don’t actually care about us.

No hurt feels tho 😌 if you guys end up somehow accidentally voting Trump in again.....I think most Canadians don’t mind you guys jumping the boarder as long as you bring Chipotle and In & Out

I’m sorry you got refused entry.

That repressed nature is our culture and in many ways I think it’s a controlled tactic.

As a nation we’re more worried about offending someone or hurting someone’s feelings that we don’t actually make policy that benefits us. Our pockets are open ended and Monopoly money at this point because we’re so busy trying to accommodate everyone (repressed).

Best thing I saw while there was Jaspers National Park

Jasper is nice but Banff National is better imo.

If you truly want to experience a beautiful scenic landscape that isn’t filled with tourist crap then visit Blue Rock Provincial Park.

You have to at least go tent camping for two nights to experience the beauty of it.

Edmonton has the largest greenery/land reserved for tree growth for a city in North America. Maybe you we’re traveling on the outskirts or just passing through on highways.

We’re you in the area for your work (oil industry?) because no one goes north for anything but work 😂

I remember when you did that years ago and told people on here. You had fun tho?! Would you actually backpack again? I def don’t recommend doing that in Canada, it’s not as safe as it once was.

I did that in April of last year. I was hopping flights every couple of days, it was an expensive nightmare, honestly! 😆 I didn't know to and from the airport were sometime an hour to an hour and a half away. I thought since the countries were small, they would be close. I was WRONG.

I would do it again, because it's so easy to pick up and go but I would stay about 3 or 4 days in each place.

1- Canada’s food prices are extremely expensive compared to the USA. We pay a fortune for most things you pay 💰 really small amounts of money for.

2- We don’t have most of the stores the US has. In fact we lose our shit like wild animals when a US store opens up here.

3- Each working Canadian pays $ 6299.00 towards universal healthcare per year.

4- You are not allowed to bother the wildlife or get close. If you’re hunting then you have to have a license and there’s a whole ton of rules.

5- Our housing market is insanely expensive and not because it’s worth more, we just have a huge influx of foreign bodies offshoring their money safely in Canada for now.

6- Canada has two official languages English and French. No aboriginal languages are considered as a part of our constitutional right to speak in our own language.

7- A lot of really cool comedians and actors come from Canada 🇨🇦 😎 ur welcome 😇

8- You can smoke pot anywhere in Canada and buy pot nearly anywhere.

9- We have two seasons in Canada.....winter and construction.

10- Our money is made of plastic!! 🙄
