Cleaning inside of DVD player

The ones where you insert the disks into a slot...

I just know you aren't supposed to be using any commercial cleaning disks. Looking for ideas before I decide to try and find a new one...

Youtube your model + disassembly or repair or search your model on an engine + repair guide or something. May be able to find

You can try reddit or YouTube for help, I love DVDs and CDs but don't know how to clean one 😅

there are many reason a DVD player stops working, but it's almost never because it needs "cleaning"

generally it's a problem with the moving parts: the loader or the spinning mechanism

I see. How does one generally fix those problems? Is there actually still repair shops that fixes those things?

I don't necessarily need to keep the same player, but I do still need something that can still play the dvd disks that I have.

you can get a DVD player for less then $ 200 these days. Repairing will probably cost more and waste your time.
Alternatively you can buy USB DVD players for a computer in a computer parts shop.

I'd recomend transfering one's DVD movies and other media to a hard drive and then making backup hard drives, but that's just me.
