I would love to see a strong conservative come to office instead of the dumbfuck idiots running the Republican party right now. Too bad it won't likely happen any time soon. Why has this even become an issue? I understood when it was a Catholic church only issue, but this has gotten extremely out of hand. It makes me emotionally upset.

the arizona law requires that you justify to your employer that you have a medical reason for the use of contraceptives. imagine having to tell your boss "Bill" about your personal medical issues. how is that his business and who's to say that he won't share that information with others? he's not bound by confidentiality.

Yes, I always found it ironic that insurance happily covered pregnancy and birth control not at all. Preventative in all measures in this country sucks the rust off a trailer hinge.
My gyno used to cover my birth control in total under my insurace. At the time I was on the Depo shot and because I went into the office every three months for the injection they treated it as something coded for blah blah blah and it was completely covered minus my co-pay for the visit. It was totes badass.....
I eventually had to get off Depo for reasons I won't go into as not to derail this important thread. I make the example just to say that insurance has in the past completely covered my birth control. I know they currently cover birth control here in TX and you have normal co-pays as with any other medication.
As birth control is an elective medication (in the instance it is not being taken for any other reason than birth control alone) I feel like it is a bit much to expect insurance to cover it completely. In such, I am completely ok with paying a co-pay and whatnot etc, etc.

I have also taken up telling people that nearly every female in this country has used birth control. Even my mother, who would be your grandmother, if not great grandmother, used birth control. She had a tubal ligation so she would not have any more children. People, this was quite some time ago.
I do not understand that I do not hear a good deal more outrage from females about this. Every female who has a male that listens to Rush Limbaugh should be telling said male that said male will be entertaining himself as long as he listens to Rush. Every female with a clue should be telling shouting to the world "Anybody but Santorum!!!" These people are serious about taking the entire country back to the mid 1950's. You get to be barefoot and pregnant, and waiting for me to come home so you can please me. I get to go run around and see how much on the side I can get.
Personally, I like it a lot better when the "playing field" is much more level.....

America baffles me.
When Virginia passed its law, I was a bit surprised. VA isn't deep south. Although the state leans Republican, the Southeast and Northern portions of the state tend to mitigate the stupidity of the in-breeders, so how could such a ridiculous law pass?
Prior to the contraception controversy, I had always questioned WHY I have to pay for contraception. I mean the notion that I have to shell out $ 20 bucks a month (generic) until I stop bleeding (and possibly after) seems so unfair. Why isn't the shit free? Why the fuck does it cost so much? Why haven't pharmaceutical companies come up with a male contraception pill? Why is it left to women? Fuck, they spent how much to develop eyelash medication for the thousands of bald eyelash women, but you mean to tell me they can't manufacture an "anti-sperm" pill?
What really pisses me off is that Republicans want to argue the "religious" aspects of this "debate." They argue, why should a Catholic employer or any employer with absurd religious convictions be required to have contraception coverage as part of their health insurance package. They argue that such a requirement would violate the First Amendment.
You know, I could buy this argument if it weren't complete horseshit!
What if my employer is a Jehovah's Witness? Witness' don't believe in blood transfusions. Could my employer then deny coverage of ANY medical procedure that involves transfusions?
