I don't know if else is following this issue but a Kpop girl group named Girls' Generation is currently on their worst times because of a member being forced out of the group.

Jung Jessica, Aries, was forced out because she is accused of neglecting the activities of the group, accordingly. According to her, the agency (SMent) and her other 8 members all agreed to kick her out.

During a fan meeting in China, the youngest member, Seo Juhyun, a Cancer, was the first one to show emotions regarding the incident.

And during another fan meeting, the leader, Kim Taeyeon, a Pisces, apologized saying that all she cares for is the group as a whole.

Several fans point out that the leader and the ex-member already has some issues beforehand, and that she might have influenced other members to kick Jessica out.

You think Astrology might play a role on this one?

You can also take note that every idol/artist who has left SMent, left in their own accord. They chose to leave. But in this case, Jessica was forced out.

I feel pity for her. She was on her way back to Korea from New York when she was informed that she is no longer part of the group. She also said that she was even excited for the 3-month long promotion of their group in China.

Hangeng, JYJ, Kris all decided to leave. Jessica was forced out. This is a very different case.

I saw SNSD live when I was living in Seoul. I'm not really a fan of idol groups though, it just happened to me. 😉

The biggest point that I'd like to make out of all of this is that this should be a time to address the problem in Korea of forcing women out of careers once they marry and/or have children. If even a famous star is forced out, it's pretty telling.

Of course this is improving with time, but women's right are seriously lacking.

That and the whole infantilization (yeah, I made that word up!) of women.

Another thread, though.

Nah, it's a word.

infantilization

Pronunciation: /??inf??ntl-i??z??SH??n/

noun

The act or process of infantilizing, or treating a non-infant as an infant

And a worthy topic-- http://www.oneika-the-traveller.com/tokyo- style -and-infantilization.html">Tokyo lady street style and infantilization culture.

That is my dream, to see them live. I have been a fanboy since they debuted. I love Jessica that's why this news is heartbreaking for me in particular.

Yes. No matter how famous, no matter what one woman does, once married, she should be out of her career and focus on her family. This has been shown through their soap operas. CEO guy's mom always just at home taking care of Grandmama.

Sorry I meant that SM entertainment is just a shittiest company of no matter if they left on their own or getting kicked out of her independence way.

Yes, it is a shitty company. At first, I always thought that it probably is not just SMent's fault, that maybe the other idols who left sort of were grateful of their agency. But Jessica. My poor Jessica. LOL. She even thought of just paying the investors (but she didn't have enough money) just for her to stay in GG.

Damn jealousy.

I don't think it's related to astrology.
There may be more to the story than just what she's saying.
This site has some more info:
http://www.sbs.com.au/popasia/blog/2014/09/30/girls-generation-jessica-not-present-airport-following-rumours-she-been-dropped<BR>
"This coming spring, due to her personal situation, she has notified us she will halt her team promotions with the release of one [more] album."

"However, in the midst of insufficient negotiations regarding conflicts of differences in priorities and interest, Jessica started her fashion business. Due to this, despite ongoing talks, it has come to a point where the team could not be maintained."

"She was also reported to have been attending to personal affairs in New York, which included looking for schools."

"Also according to Dispatch, the relationship between Jessica and Tyler Kwon has put a strain on her commitment to the group's promotional activities. "

There's just as much non-confirmed information on the other side of things that suggests that Jessica was having a hard time being fully committed to GG. KPop idol bands take their work very seriously and they're monitored heavily. I know in JPop idol groups, you're not allowed to have a boyfriend or even be caught with another guy alone. Anyway, until more solid information comes out, who really knows?

"This coming spring, due to her personal situation, she has notified us she will halt her team promotions with the release of one [more] album."

This is a statement of the SMent. LIES, for me.

According to her (on her Weibo account), she always wants to be part of GG, and she was forced out of the group by SMent and her other 8 members.

"However, in the midst of insufficient negotiations regarding conflicts of differences in priorities and interest, Jessica started her fashion business. Due to this, despite ongoing talks, it has come to a point where the team could not be maintained."

It has been known that Jessica and the company held so many meetings with regards to her starting her own business. Approved by higher ups. But it has also been known that the other 8 members made her choose between GG and her business, which she just can't. She said she loves GG but she has ties with the investors of her business.

IMO, why her? I mean, other members have their own business too. Some are acting, singing drama OST, doing radio shows or variety shows. Why? Is it because it is out of the singing-dancing routine?

"She was also reported to have been attending to personal affairs in New York, which included looking for schools."

This was cleared out. She attended a meeting with the investors for the launching of other branches for her business. Schools to learn about fashion designing, which is not full time.

"Also according to Dispatch, the relationship between Jessica and Tyler Kwon has put a strain on her commitment to the group's promotional activities. "

Really now? So Taeyeon, Tiffany, Sooyoung, and Yoona are fine with having a relationship. Jessica just can't, because it is putting a strain on her commitment to the group? Is this because he can see her anytime? Because he is a big time CEO?

Seriously, Dispatch.

I'm interested in this topic but haven't had much time to research it. Do you know of any articles that have confirmed information that wasn't said by the company, Jessica, or the other members? You say that the company is lying and that some things have been confirmed, but the few articles I've looked at haven't had any outside sources obtaining information on the matter.

And perhaps she was fired for doing the same things as other idol members because she was worse at time management than the others? It's always a possibility.

I didn't realize most of the members were born the same year. They're all getting up there in years (for female idol groups). I wonder when the company is going to decide to replace them. If it is the members just having a jealous moment (which apparently they've all had their moments of success outside the group so wtf), then that's pretty immature of them for their age...plus, how long are they even going to be in the group for, themselves, as I was just mentioning?

i have been following koreaboo, allkpop, soompi, and onehallyu. you can browse them, pretty much bombarded with the Jessica issue.

I might be biased, because I love Jessica, but I have to take her word for it. SMent's words are opposite to what Jessica said. Even SMent admitted that upon Jessica's future absence in concerts, they will only say that it's because of health reasons. Look at Sulli, they said she has a health problem. Turned out she has an issue. And I hope Luhan's absence now is really just because of health reasons.

I see you are a open-minded person. 🙂 Yes, it is a possibility. But if you look at it, she rarely miss shows. If there is someone who really had a time management problem, it would have been Yoona (no, I don't want her out).

I just don't see the point why she would be forced out. It was not like she wanted to leave. She was really hurt she can't bear it and posted it on her Weibo. Even Tyler Kwon said "Don't worry, the truth will come out." Meaning? The truth is not out yet? I don't know. Ugh.

That was the point. They are not getting any younger. They have to venture to some other things as well. For others, it might be acting. But it seems Jessica is the only one interested in fashion.

Well, they can be in the group for as long as the people want them, I suppose? I just didn't like the idea of the 8 of them deciding to kick her out. What about the Soshi bond they were so proud of? Well at least it isn't Jessica who left them. They left her.

I'll have to read up more on them. I was unaware that other members were having/causing issues, too. It's starting to sound like a good portion of the group has had/is having problems. Then again, it's kind of rare to see bands/music groups that don't have issues within themselves or with companies.

I'm so used to Jpop bands where, in some idol groups, they kick members out once they graduate school. I guess Kpop is different. I'm glad to see some older idol members. At least Jessica will still be able to further her career somehow, even if she wanted to still be in the group.

Thanks for the info!

No problem 🙂

Kpop really is different. Jpop? My very first foreign idol is Utada Hikaru. Then comes a band named Do as Infinity, then learned about BoA, Korean singer singing a Japanese song. Switched to Kpop. LOL.

Yes, I am glad Jessica now can focus on her business, though she always fought for her love for Girls' Generation.

Read on, and tell me what you think 😉
