New Orleans again

Thought I'd tell everyone that the New Orleans trip was a blast. Saw some things I'd never seen before; whole different world down there. Food was excellent, weather was beautiful. I was definitely over-dressed but it was still cool. Have to go again.

I got a ton of beads, some very, very hot sauce, watched some women pull off their clothes on Bourbon St. (wait, I am a woman), got drunk, ate catfish and mud bugs, and gave all the beads to the kids. They're all over the house. Looks like the French Quarter in my living room.

I hope you're planning to share some of that hot sauce!!! The nude women on Bourbon St. is as common as sand on the beach-- and no where near as impressive as corn-meal battered and fried catfish (aaaaah .. memories).. I'm jealous.

I have to agree with you on the catfish...if only the men were as uninhibited as the women there.

As to Qbone's perception of reality...I'll just say we kept it in the hotel room.

New Orleans; low street lights, the best of things to eat, the atmosphere of a carnival, the common mindset of fun with no worries. The gypsy.

One dot of hot sauce on your tongue, and hell rises up from below.

The sauce is for real. The people down there (cajuns as they are called), some of them are fabulously good cooks. Most of the sauces are hot or at the least, very spicy. The plates of fried catfish we were served at one restaurant had ground cayenne pepper sprinkled all over the plate.

It's just the way they eat there.

I bet Preparation-H is a hot item as well.

You and me both Sweet-P!!! Yah, cajun food is both tasty and spicy... some so spicy, you wonder if it safe for human consumption.

We also brought several pounds of shrimp back, right off the boat. Lot cheaper down there. Boiled some up the other night with some baked catfish with lemon-pepper seasoning. Excellent!

ahhhh man.... stop.. I'm drooling!
