I heard about this before when my roommate read about it, but it's been coming up more recently. Scientists are considering sending a group of people to Mars to start colonizing the planet; the only thing is, these people wouldn't come back to Earth. Ever.

Would you be capable of doing this? I think it's a pretty neat idea, but I couldn't imagine giving up everything to be one of these ground-breaking people. How do you feel about possibly colonizing Mars in general?

If i had nothing at all to lose .. say if i were a convicted felon serving life, had no family, etc, etc. I might consider it.

Maybe they should be sending death-row inmates or lifers to Mars to colonize. Make them useful and lighten our earthen criminal element, somewhat.

mankind has done enough damage on this planet, god forbid they start "colonizing" any other planet...

I'll be pretty impressed if we manage to ruin Mars.
