Truffles

Anyone ever ate one? What do they taste like? I heard they taste like mushrooms but I've never eaten a mushroom before out a fear I might get a poisonous one or one that's hallucinogenic.

usually truffles are used like spices-they have a very strong earthy but pleasant taste-at least to me. and they'r expensive as hell lol

omg, I love mushrooms! As for truffles: they're very earthy, meaty flavored. That's really the best way I can describe them, which isn't doing them justice, because most mushrooms fall into this category of taste to one degree or another.

Mushroom risotto is also super yum. Mushroom gravy on mashed potatoes. Mushroom soup.

Truffles...my Cap introduced me to this. It's really earthy and musky..almost gamey.
