I also think that Obama is way underestimated. I can not, will not, predict what his final legacy will be, but it will undoubtedly be as complex and textured as the man himself is, be that good or bad.

Donald Trump is a joke. Running a multi-billion dollar business & running the United States and/or a country are 2 DIFFERENT things.

Ok, so the guy is rich? So what! There are about 17 other people in this world that make 10xs more money than he does. If simply being rich can grant you the opportunity to become the president of an entire country, what on earth do we need politics for!?! If it's just about whose got more money than all the guys in school for political science or who are getting all this political experience under their belts oughta quit & instead start focusing more on how large their bank accounts are!

Seriously... Paris Hilton has 1/3 of Donald's money...so what should she run for president too?! Mark Zuckerberg (Founder of facebook) is now worth what Trump is worth, so should even he be "good enough" to run for president too? I mean come on!

Donald has no political experience. And claiming to read the Wall Street Journal or be "up to date" on current issues going on in the world is NOT the equivalent of having political experience. Trump has NO military experience nor does he or any of the members of his family have any political background. Since when can you run a country without having any political/military experience?!

I agree Krys!

However, we are living in some very scary/unknown times, and at this point, I believe anything is possible.

He's says he's ready to spend upwards of 6 mil on his campaign. Swear to the good lord above, if that man throws his hat in the ring, I'm OUT!

LOL!!! Those darling little curtain climbers. He stays with his father, Grandmother or big sister ( she's 20 ). My eldest goes into meltdown when I travel, she worries so. "You won't come back Momma, what am I going to do if you move there?" My answer? "Fly to me at Christmas, call your mother an awful lot. Be a terrific excuse to teach grandbabies about a different place." Then she'll roll her huge blues and come in close for a hug and kiss. My son takes a different tack, he'll pick me up and squash me in a hug then do the growing male 'harumph' of "Love you Mom, but I'm a DUDE now." and tells me to have a great time.

Awwww...they're stuck on you like glue.

Funny, now that I'm thinking about it on the reverse, I was the same with my mom a few years ago when she mentioned moving to North Carolina (we live in NY so it's only a couple of hours, but still) with her husband. I was behaving like your eldest (my sister was fine with it) but the only difference is that I started thinking up ways to sabotage her trip immediately. *evil grin* She can be annoying as all hell when she's around but, how could she leave us like that— I played the baby-of-the-family-spoiled-brat role to the hilt! Needless to say she's not going anymore. 😉

It sounds like you and your kids have a really strong bond and they seem really sweet. I can understand them not wanting you to go.

🙂

LOL Shame on you woman. I suspect my girl might try the same thing, but sheeeeeee'd loooooooose. 😉

They say they are not a cult, but I have Mormons in my neck of the woods all of the time and I must admit that they do have a very cult-like feel to them, if that makes any sense. quite eerie.

I went to the LDS church with friends for a few years as a teen, and found them very family-oriented. Every time I met with the bishop he would ask when my parents would be joining too. Haha as if! My folks encouraged my religious streak but I'm sure I picked the wrong religion to try it out on. The Baptist church is right down the street tho...hmm

Honestly, I just think that they still get a bad rap for past practices and the 'Book of Mormon'.

I would like to visit a service just once to experience they're word, worship, spirit, etc.

I said just once now, I said just once. 😉

Actually, I was born a Mormon, and grew up in Utah. Ya' want some Mormon dirt, I got some Mormon dirt!!!

In reality, most people who are Mormon are just your run of the mill Evangelical types. Nothing more, nothing less. The problem is the people from Utah are freaked out, paranoid, jerks. Of course, Utah is the center of the Mormon world, so that perception is given to all Mormons. The reality is that all people (almost all) from Utah are freaked out, paranoid, jerks. One of the reasons I had to leave the state.
Mitt Romney is not one of the freaked out, paranoid, jerks.

There is absolutely no chance I would vote for him, but it is because of his politics, not his religious background.
If you will take the trouble to look up some Romney history you will learn that he managed to save the Olympics for Utah some time back. The corner was turned toward Utah with the benefit of liquor and whores, liberally applied to the Olympic decision makers. Mr. Romney did not seem to be involved, but it still leaves a real bad taste in my mouth.

I would have to say that I would find Mr. Romney the best option I can see for the Republican's. So, as I state, it is very unlikely I would vote for Mr. Romney. If it came down to Trump vs Romney, then I would go with Romney, so you get my point.

I think Mr. Obama is very underrated, and underestimated. He keeps being blasted for not being hard line enough, or far to liberal. Still, he keeps making progress on and pretty good agenda. He doesn't get it all, no one ever does, but he has in my opinion done more positive things for this country in 1.5 years than w did in 8.

Thank you, dofacc!

Very informative indeed and I do plan to do more research on Romney because I think it's pretty much a given that he's running...again!!!

Now I want to take a trip to Utah and witness this paranoia for myself. Seriously.

^^^"...liquor and whores,...

Continued...

I was reading an online Mormon message board the other day, and boy were they REALLY trying to convince folks that they no longer practice polygamy. They were talking almost as if their lives depended upon it. LOL.

The repuation of the church took such a beating at one point partly due to Joseph's (the founder) many questionable behaviors, and that in part, was where the idea of 'cult' was born.

Obama...sigh...he got a rotten deal.

Unfortunately, for lots and lots of people in this country Trump and Romney aren't jokes. These folks are dead serious about trying to get these guys elected. Scary, just plain scary!!!!!

Co-sign.

I was actually quite surprised to learn just how many people in the past few weeks alone have thrown their support behind him (the comb-over that is), and as for Romney, well, it's evident he has a huge backing. Just take a look back about three or so years ago when he was running against Obama folks.

The world is already under the perception that Americans are a bunch of self serving , egotistical and ignorant idiots . Do we really need to elect the "poster boy" ? I mean really ?!

My personal vote is for Ron Paul. But i know the Wall Street machine will never allow him to be "chosen". Because presidents are not elected, they are "selected" .

Ron Paul...hmmm...maybe Huckabee might bring his ass back too.

I don't think for one moment that he actually gives a shit about running this country.

I see this purely as a self-serving endeavor. A challenge to be met for the greatest ego boost of his entire career (to see how many would vote for him/if he actually won).

Thoughts on Obama? Do you think he'll be elected for a second term?

Palin shot herself in the foot...no?

If we elect a Republican president do you think the economy will be better or worse within the next 4 years?

Serious responses to whatever you wish.

Thank You,

I don`t think Obama was an exceptional president. The only thing that makes him Exceptional is because he`s first African American. But I`m glad that he did some improvement on foreign relations.such as stopping the war with Iraq etc. Does anyone know why he had recieved Nobel Price?? I`ve no idea about it,since he didn`t make historical/outstanding success. Also he puts too much attention on appearance, but that`s only my opinion. And he says too obvious things like " Japanese earthquake was a serious catastrophe." Which is much too simple for president.

I heard that Condoleezza Rice may become the next candidate for Presidential Election. She might be much better than Obama.

I`m not American, and You`re Welcome, VirgoVixxxen.

Yes, he did do alot in regards to foreign relations.

The world had a love-fest with Obama - in particular, for one very obvious reason, and I believe that is why he received the NP so early on. He made history, and has a very likeable personality to boot, good president or not.

It would be very interesting if Condoleeza decided to run as I don't think there's anyone that could really argue her political experience, not to mention that she's highly respected, and she's obviously not seen as some 'joke' like Palin. She's a pretty viable candidate.

The real question is: is the country ready for a black female president?

Kennedy was a great president. He did so much for this country. So sad he had to succumb to such a violent fate.

Was he our only Gem pres?

I gotta do some research.

Exactly the question to be asked. But do you really think Likeable personality is enough to get a Nobel Price— I think NB is for more special successes.

Of course I don't.

However, combine that with history like you've never seen before, a likeable personality, and solid efforts to strengthen international diplomacy, and yes, you bet your ass you've got yourself a recipient for the NP.

I do believe that Obama will be re-elected. The economy is picking up, and so far the Republican's look like a bunch of clowns falling out of their clown car.

I would argue that George H. Bush is highly underrated. He really was a political insider, but he did the right things. I attribute a fair amount of the fiscal success Clinton had to the things H did late in his single term. He knew what that country needed, and pretty much sacrificed his political career to make it happen.

He also stayed the hell out of Bagdad.

You speak to some people and they would swear he hasn't done shit.

It's amazing how uninformed many of the folks who voted for him are, and are not even aware of how much he's accomplished thus far. I've personally heard some say that they won't vote for him the second time around because they have yet to witness "change".

Obama's approval rating is something like 45% . Of course, this is not enough to get re-elected. Well, that is unless the Republican's try and run like Trump against him.

The "white americans" you mention are not necessarily in the majority. They are being the loudest and most obnoxious, but this does not make them the majority.

One of the things that is happening is that white male American's do feel like they are losing Ye Olde Power, Position, and Prestige. They need to feel like they are losing power, position, and prestige, because they are. The country is becoming less white as a whole, and women are playing a larger and larger role. Obama is the face of that change, this makes him the bad guy, no matter what happens.

I have to snicker, we keep hearing "Going to take My Country Back!" From whom, lots of people ask. Well, from those folks who have a darker skin than I, and who have more estrogen than I, that's who!

This country needs a conservative President.
Donnie is not a serious contender, he would have to take a huge pay cut if he were elected. Who will do the Apprentice then? I like he's business concepts for running the country, it could only help the broken economy. If a foreign power want american military aide then that should pay us like a job contractor.
My thoughts on the current administration, is great speeches without a lot of follow through. Not as transparent with your actions and the health-care is a big one. If there is a huge consensus that people from both sides of the isle don't want this, just for thought don't force it through and muck up the constitution. And then don't admit you don't know whats in the bill and pass it off as it's better than nothing. wtf?
Palin had a raw chance but shows to many weak points.
I liked ron paul.... but IDK now want he's motives are in 2011.
Hillary might have a chance, if Obama keeps this pace.
Herman Cain seems solid so far.
Rick perry screwed our state good and now I think is setting up for a VP bid.
just my thoughts>> I'm not a conservative, or a liberal. I fluctuate on my view depending on the issue.
I don't drink the kool aide at fox news opinion shows, or get hooked by CNN or become a cheerleader on MSNBC.
The Drudge Report, Politically Incorrect, Sean Hannity, Glenn Beck is a D bag but he's smart, Rachel Maddow, John Stewart and sometimes crappy ass mark levin.🙂

Is Obama high-rated in US? I heard that he`s not really respected among the white americans.I don`t think he`ll be elected for the next term.

White Americans is who elected him. He ran for city council here in Chicago. I actually helped campaign against him. He didn't talk back then like he does now. Then, he sounded like a snot nosed Harvard grad that didn't get the Black vote. Now, he sounds like Martin Luther King. He's a puppet. Most of the guys I used to work with are in his cabinet. They're douche bags, all of them. There is no president people, just a figure head. If you think that your vote counts, then you really aren't paying attention. :/

Well, Lobo, I feel compelled to point out that Ronald Reagan, George H. Bush, and George W. Bush were all very conservative Presidents. So, Reagan first took office in 1832. So, 30 years later we have had 20 years of "Conservative" Presidents and 9+ years of "Liberal" Presidents. Now why you think that more conservative President's are going to do anything different than the first 20 years worth of conservative Presidents is not something I understand. A lot of the problems we face today are a result of "conservative" politicians having the reins of government, and implementing conservative principles. Today is the result. Really, what don't you get? Conservatives have had the majority of power in this country since 1982. This is the result of that political shift.

As to Virgovixxxen, I have to admit I keep looking south of our borders and wondering what the future will bring. I do not see Mexico invading and subduing the USA. I do see Mexico continuing to disintegrate as the drug war destroys that society, pretty much as a whole.

Maybe I should have been addressing Batuk. Really, are you guys sure you aren't like twins?

As for the "Birthers" shutting up, not a chance. Really, "It is just a forgery!" Just like the news stories of Obama's birth are plants in those Hawaiian papers.
These people do not want to believe, therefore there is no proof possible to change their minds. It Just Has To Be, and that is all there is to that.

I do feel that Obama at this point in time has a pretty good chance of being re-elected. Having said that, the actual election is a long ways off. Lots will change between now and then.
Any yes, there is a portion of our black population that does not like Obama. Welcome to America, you get to have you own ideas.

People are focusing on a damn birth certificate with all of this other shit going on? Nobody said jack when "W" was pulling the okie doke on the whole world. No wonder America is so effed up. *smh* Americans are so easily deceived and led astray.

"Birthers", "Truthers", "9/11 truthers", "Tea party", "Right", "Left", etc..... Just different breeds of sheep. Maybe people feel more secure in their own lives if they can attach to something, idk. Obama's handlers love that people are focused on his birth certificate. I know I would be. You'll never focus on the people who are robbing you blind if you are looking in one direction, will you? *smh* The least of Americans concerns should be where he was born. What they should focus on is taking back the country from the Oligarchs. It'll never happen, too much sodium fluoride in American tap water. What entity is keeping his identity hidden? If you can answer that, then you'll know who the real puppet masters are. Not enough people care, which is why the country is now owned mostly by China anyway.

The stock market and commodities are breaking new highs, yet the $ is shrinking like a prune. Do the math. No, let's all focus on a birth certificate, liberalism, and conservatism instead. Divide and conquer, gotta love it.
