Come again? You want to make a point but it is not logical. Being 'religious' has nothing to do with believing in God. God is not a religion. He is not the one who created catholic faith, buddhist, shinto, jewish, hindu, or any of that. Man did. If you want to make a proper argument, Damen, then you should argue that God says He is the Most High and there is no way to eternal life but through him. So having faith in God and being 'religious' are two different things. Christianity and satanism are religions too, so what is your point? If you want to argue that Christianity is the true faith, let me remind you that it is laced with pagan beliefs and hypocrisy. Obeying God is not a religion. And as for your suicide rates linking to religion, that is wrong as well. Have you ever experienced life in China? Some parts are truly depressing. To live every day is really a struggle and some people see death as a way out. They do not believe in any god because what kind of god would allow immense suffering? South Korea has the highest rate of suicide in the world. Why not make a thread on it? I see your theme of picking on my people but in your feeble attempts, you only make yourself look uneducated. Don't worry about what Chinese do. Look at your own people's problems.

I think its interesting we have moved out of the age of pisces, kind of the jesus age, and into Aquarius. The age of information. I do also believe that is what the mayans referred to with the whole 2012 thing.
Im not religious myself. I am open to possibilities that a god or some higher being exists. But not willing to blindly follow any religion.
I don't know if a nation without religion is soulless tho. You dont need god to know right from wrong.
You need to open up a book and read it through to the end at least once before your death.click to expand

Yeah I pretty much knew the majority of the chinese population were souless. Just look at their history up until today. It's disgusting though it's mostly their dictators who caused their destruction. The people are and were sheeple. They act as if someone psychologically stripped them of their free will. Like they're just stuck in purgatory. Not the rich people of course. They dine with fine wine and freshly prepared cockroaches. π That's basically where the U.S. is headed if we even have the chance to get there.

Damen, if lack of faith makes it easier to kill one's self, why are not all the atheists dead from their own hands? once again, Chinese are not faithless. Many of us do believe in God, and some are of other faiths. it is evident in your false speak that you do not know any Chinese people personally. your robotic and soulless comment is utterly fatuous.

Wasnt it the french that went through this? Look what happen during that age.
Learn from the past and the same mistakes wont be made.

BlackNova, I had my little say and I made my little point. I know people will not agree and I respect the difference of opinions. What I am having a hard time with, maybe you do not notice, is that it seems like Damen has a theme of Chinese people. First it was 8000 of us getting kicked out of school for cheating, now it's we kill ourselves because we dont believe in God. Discussing articles is fine but undeniably there is a hint of attack towards Chinese. I could be wrong, and if I am I accept that. But I dont think I am.

Chinese people have lived a collective life like beehive. They have had high morals. Now with the opening to Capitalism they are going to be as bad as every atheist in the free world.

There are "religions" outside of Abrahamic, monotheistic traditions. But in some of those, there is nothing to pray to and no reward; salvation is your own responsibility - a matter of how deeply you're willing to confront yourself and your conditioning. No promise of an afterlife, and no extra reward for being good (you don't get anything special for doing what you should be doing anyway.)
I can understand how this, too, might offend average sensibilities, but for entirely different reasons.

This is why suicides happen: people telling others to kill themselves. Bullies are the bane of life, be they from family, friends, or outsiders.click to expand

tho i can't sit here and lie. i have wished death on people in real life and they are still alive and haven't commited suicide. yeah i let my temper get the better of me to the point of telling people irl to jump out a 10 story building and dive nose first into balls of fire below. so yes i'm guilty of that and that's only because people push me to the limit. and i only say things like that to people i hate. because they hate me.

America??s rising generation of adults are the least religiously observant of any generation in six decades, determined an expansive study led by Jean Twenge, a psychology professor at San Diego State.
In one of the largest studies ever conducted on Americans?? religious involvement, researchers from Case Western Reserve University and the University of Georgia collaborated with Twenge and her colleagues in California to analyze data from four national surveys of U.S. adolescents between the ages of 13 and 18. The surveys were taken between 1966 and 2014, and include responses from some 11.2 million people.
The researchers?? findings were published this month in PLOS One.
According to Twenge and her cohorts, today??s adolescents view religion as less important, report less βapproval?? of religious organizations, and spend less time on prayer than did their similarly-aged predecessors. Compared to their peers in the late 1970s, 75 percent more American 12th graders, the paper finds, believe that religion is βnot important at all?? in their lives.

im not really a religious person either, but a society without religion seems like a cold & soulless one..might be partly due to us entering the age of Aquarius(some believe we entered this age in 2012)
thoughts?
