So who has heard about this recent scientific discovery about blue-eyed people all having originated from one common ancestor who had some sort of genetic mutation?

I am thinking about feeling disturbed, seeing as how both myself and my boyfriend have blue eyes. Get my drift?

lol...

Yes, I get your drift .. but, for those who don't ... here's an overview of how disturbing this can be ...

The mutation in which you refer isn't really a "Mutant" gene, rather a mutation resulting from a recessive gene.

There are 46 pairs of chromosones in which form our DNA .. 23 from father, and 23 from mother

In a dominant gene .. a trait inhereted through DNA (such as eye color) is one that comes from one parent .. and doesn't require the other 23 pairs of chromosones to be present.

A recessive gene means it requires both sets of 23 to equal 46 to be present for the DNA to manifest the trait ...

With what you refer .. the gene that was mutated (gene: OCA2), IS a recessive gene, so therefore, requires both parents to have the gene in order for the offspring to have this trait within their DNA ...

So, to bring this short summary of gene descriptions, as it relates to our DNA to show how disturbing this is to blue-eyed people ...

.. this gene was recessive with brothers and sisters, first cousins, mothers and sons, fathers and daughters ....... FIRST BLOOD RELATIVES hooking up and procreating.

So, in essence ... you're all the spawn of incest .. isn't that a delightful thought? **sarcasm**

If Adam and Eve are a reality .. then we're all products of incest anyway .. so what the hell.

I personally do not see this as disturbing - it just shows that we truly are all ONE.

Media can put all kinds of facts/stories/thoughts out there - we choose what we will let "disturb" us, cause pain within and we choose to accept things that we cannot change.

Life is interesting...never a dull moment on this planet - kinda reminds me of walking up and down the isles in Toys 'r us 😉

Focus on the GOOD in your life and you will have a better day!

lol, and just think .. someday, you and him (if it gets serious) might be able to breed some more .. yay !!!!!!

In reality ..... the orginial gene of origin, which was dominant .. carries a DNA sequence (if not mutated) should give us all the characteristics of ..

Brown skin
Brown hair
Brown eyes

So, if you have any other color than those ... you're a mutant .. yay!

This is hilarious...any other mutants out there? I'd prefer not to be the only one. lol.
