A man is involved with a woman. He talks about marriage and having kids. The woman was hesitant about marriage and was always heavily adamant from the beginning about not having children. She goes through a terrible life threatening experience which causes post traumatic stress disorder. They get married in her most vulnerable time of life. Still she is adamant about no children. He gets her pregnant anyway. She gets an abortion, but he is right by her side for support when she does it. Later he blows up at her, calling her selfish and accuses her of killing their baby.

Is the woman selfish or is the man stupid for not leaving to find a woman who wanted the life he did? What do you think of this scenario? All opinions welcomed.

Both are stupid. But my view is, if one person in the couple does not want kids, that decision should be respected. Forcing a kid on someone who does not want one is a lot of stress and often leads to the kid being less loved than if they were wanted by both parents. So, in this case, the man has no right to blow up at her. It sounds like he knew her views about it, so no excuses. But, really, both should have realized that things were going to go bad when there's major differences in what they wanted in a relationship and marriage. The woman should have been stronger in this situation and tried to get professional help rather than leaning on this man, but what happened, happened, and I do think she was right in getting an abortion. Her life would have become a living nightmare since it's not the sort of life she wanted for herself.
