Question...

Say this was you..

You go get married at the Justice of peace and you want your parents to be there. Your mother asks if your father will be there and when you say yes, she says she's not attending.

After letting her know how important it means to you that she's there, she sticks to her guns that she doesn't want to be near your dad and doesn't show up.

What would be your next move after this?

You and mom always had a not so good relationship.

Exactly!!

My dad was coming and you did your part with her.. you asked.... because to be honest since you already don't have a not so good relationship with her...She wasn't getting an invitation to begin with....

Your wedding is suppose to be a peaceful, happy, memorable day. You don't won't to regret inviting her, then she comes and acts distance or don't smile and draw negative attention to her...

Save yourself from the possible drama...

Wow.

All about her, hmm.

I think i would just say

'Well... that's too bad-- we'll miss you.'

Actually I'd throw in a guilt trip too.

It's her favorite weapon, so... live by the sword

Etc etc
