Roadtrip! Rt 66

My friend and I decided to go on a road trip from NY to Vegas as soon as my busy season is done. I plan on hopping on old rt 66 in St Louis. Any suggestions for motels, diners or cheesy attractions? We are driving slow with lots of stops.

That's a long ass drive Gluck.

We are going to take 4 days to get to Grand Canyon, spend 2 nights there, hot Vegas for 4 nights and then take 4-5 days to get home using a different route. It takes around 34 hours if we were to drive straight.
