Why no instant messenger?

SINCE, this is a astrology site.... are we here only to talk on the educational aspects of astrology....
We are all searching for someone at sometime...
Wouldn't it be cool to talk to people on here in real time that we connect with—?

Ask someone for their number and call or text them. Better yet, post it here and they will call you.

I get what you mean though. You can have real time conversation in a forum setting almost as well as an IM setting. Each would require both people to be online at the same time and typing messages back and forth. The forum just lets everyone join in. I have had a few times on here where I get to talking with someone and we are just posting back and forth. My hesitation on having IMs here is that the forum seems to be slowing down too much anyway. When I joined two years(ish) ago it was much more active and people even then said it was dying. If you want more interactions with people here, post more. I have been trying to do this recently myself.

That's why they created the chat room.

Well I mean just don't make the IM into a chat room with a bunch of people....
Just ONE to ONE....
People are still gonna want to express stuff to everyone....
In this forum style here no gets cut out that way by real time chitter chatter..
