Sarah Mclachlan's new CD. I am astounded with what I've heard of it so far...which includes the tracks "Fallen" (a beautiful, haunting, sad and uplifting masterpiece), and "Push" (a song that made me cry - and I love/hate that...and Never, Ever actually do that...she wrote it for her husband). Also, "Dirty Little Secret", which I remember being good, but can't remember what it's about.
I saw her do a live concert during which she sang these songs to a small audience on the WE network on tv. I swear to God, her new stuff is every bit as good as her older, classic stuff - if you even merely "like" Sarah Mclachlan, you Must purchase this album. I'm hoping I get it for Christmas but can barely contain myself waiting that long. 😛
This woman is a legend, and righfully so. Sigh...such beautiful music...
The lyrics are very simple (though poignant), but the way she sings them is what makes the song complete.
"Fallen" Sarah Mclachlan
Heaven bent to take my hand And lead me through the fire Be the long awaited answer To a long and painful fight
Truth be told, I've tried my best But somewhere along the way I got caught up in all there was to offer And the cost was so much more than I could bear
Though I've tried, I've fallen... I have sunk so low I have messed up Better I should know So don't come round here And tell me I told you so...
We all begin with good intent Love was raw and young We believed that we could change ourselves; The past could be undone But we carry on our backs the burden Time always reveals The lonely light of morning The wound that would not heal
It's the bitter taste of losing everything That I have held so dear.
I've fallen... I have sunk so low I have messed up Better I should know So don't come round here And tell me I told you so...
Heaven bent to take my hand Nowhere left to turn I'm lost to those I thought were friends To everyone I know Oh they turned their heads embarassed Pretend that they don't see But it's one missed step You'll slip before you know it And there doesn't seem a way to be redeemed
Though I've tried, I've fallen... I have sunk so low I have messed up Better I should know So don't come round here And tell me I told you so...
Though I've tried, I've fallen... I have sunk so low I have messed up Better I should know So don't come round here And tell me I told you so...
Every time I look at you the world just melts away All my troubles, all my fears dissolve in your affections You've seen me at my weakest but you take me as I am And when I fall you offer me a softer place to land
You stay the course, you hold the line, you keep it all together You're the one true thing I know I can believe in You're all the things that I desire, you save me, you complete me You're the one true thing I know I can believe
I get mad so easy but you give me room to breathe No matter what I say or do 'cause you're too good to fight about it Even when I have to push just to see how far you'll go You wont stoop down to battle, but you never turn to go
You stay the course, you hold the line, you keep it all together You're the one true thing I know I can believe in You're all the things that I desire, you save me, you complete me You're the one true thing I know I can believe
Your love is just the antidote when nothing else will cure me There are times I can't decide when I cant tell up from down You make me feel less crazy when otherwise I'd drown But you pick me up and brush me off and tell me I'm OK Sometimes that's just what we need to get us through the day
You stay the course, you hold the line, you keep it all together You're the one true thing I know I can believe in You're all the things that I desire, you save me, you complete me You're the one true thing I know I can believe...
Oh, and the Live Launch Exclusive Performance is the better video, in my opinion...only because it's more "natural". Just Sarah and the piano, and her voice to me sounds even better live. But, the other isn't bad, it's just not as good, I don't think.

I need some new music, badly...it's been way too long since I bought a CD. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone who likes mainly alternative rock, and classic rock (but not heavy metal or rap)?
Sometimes I try to do things and it just doesn't work out the way I want it to and I get real frustrated, and like, I try hard and I take my time and it just doesn't work out the way it want it to, i
I'm so excited! It's September 2nd at the Britt Festival in Jacksonville, Oregon. I hope he sings some old stuff...like..."Octopus's Garden"...or just anything from the Beatles. He's such a cutie pie! I hope he drums.
I went thru a stage...in high school...need I say more? I liked the guy & the band a great deal and thought they were pretty revolutionary in what they were saying. I may not hold him/them in such high esteem these days, but I definitely think that he/t
