Did anybody see this terrible list of greatest guitarists? www.rollingstone.com/features/coverstory/featuregen.asp?pid=1917

Eddie Van Halen at #70—? Randy Rhoades at 85? Angus Young at #96? Not to mention several great ones didn't make it. And I know it all comes down to opinions but to put most of those guy ahead of Eddie is crazy! He should be in the top 10.

Although most of it is bad they did make a wise choice for #1 and I was surprised but glad Dick Dale made it in there.

....and you think that *I* am the one destined for a career in music??

🙂

You just taught me eight thousand things about guitarists! The one thing I already knew: "Rolling Stone has always been a snobby magazine". Quite well said. I bought one issue...and was completely put off by the tone of every single article.

Yes, very informative post Parallex. You know a lot more guitarists than I do. I don't know a lot the old time guitarists before the 60's. I've seen some really bad top 50/top 100 lists but this might have been worst one I have ever seen. Maybe I'll come up with a top 100 worst top lists. lol j/k I don't have that much time on my hands. I hope Rolling Stone doesn't do a top 100 drummers list and put Neal Peart at #93 or something.

Back up for Rod Stewart? James, we are talking GUITARISTS not Rod's love partners. haha

No he wasn't on there, but a lot of great ones weren't.
