Just curious how many of you are in an artistic profession or are just generally creative, and in what ways. To get the ball rolling I let you know that I am a photographer. I went to art school and discovered I was pretty artistically inclined in multiple studies.....who knew?

Your turn fishys.......

I'm a writer. The stuff I write for a living is more news/interview oriented and I also edit the work of our freelancers. My real love, though, is writing fiction and historical non-fiction.

I'm also good at interior decorating. Wouldn't want to do it as a profession, though. I just help people I know out with that kind of thing. 🙂

For some reason, I find it easy to make up and compose music with the right chords to make it sound beautiful. I'm not that interested in music though. I took art for my degree in master architecture instead. And I had the chance to act on stage in one of the theatre in my local area not long years ago.

DC----Beautiful shots...especially of the "Gothic trees". You have an excellent eye for composition. I am more of a still life/bizarre landscape photographer. I will have to post some stuff for you. Are you strictly digital?

I love painting. It's so time consuming, though. Between working my real job, while attempting to establish myself as a photog, no time anymore 😢

When I was in my teens I used to love to draw and write short stories. I remember when I was in the 9th grade my art teacher had the class to recreate a famous painting. I forgot which painting I recreated, but I know it was by Picasso. My teacher was so shocked when she saw it. She insisted I enter in the schools art fair, but I didn't want to. I was EXTREMELY shy back then 🙂.

It's funny. I think the reason why Pisces are so creative (emotion/intuition aside) is really that we need the release. Nothing is more amazing then when inspiration strikes!

DC---Thanks for the tip. I would love to get back into it.

Gangtsa----I totally hear what your saying. I am super shy when it comes to showing my work. I'm super sensitive and when I get compliments on it, I'm embarrassed. I guess its because it comes from such a personal place.

i've wrote some short story fiction & poetry, mainly for myself. Might like to write a novella someday and who knows, maybe publish.. I also come from an artsy, musically talented family, and have always LOVED, appreciated music! I don't play myself, but have learned a few basic drum beats on a pro kit for the fun of it; by far my most favorite instrument! It's even MORE fun than you think. Right now, it's mostly drumming on x-box's *rockband, which is alot of fun too. =)

i also GREATLY admire the awesome talents of the classical historical artists, especially pre-20th century.. ..would've loved to meet a few or watch them in action..lol I also have a great appreciation for dance, especially ballet.. Two of the best male dancers in history are also my two favorites, and yeah, they just happen to be pisceans, of course..wink wink! =) ..i also like the more artsy feel of black & white photography.

"I think the reason why Pisces are so creative (emotion/intuition aside) is really that we need the release."

How true is that, and also that deep appreciation and (inspiration) of other's awesome talents, you can REALLY get lost in..

i don't believe in art as profession. it should just be an avocation or recreation for its own merits.

everyone innately likes art because that is self-expression. people who get paid to do it are lucky bastards who managed to manipulate rich fools into buying their stuff for the sake of "high culture."

you get paid to put up with other people's crap and solve their problems.

WOW DC! Really beautiful work. It's great that your mom and sis join in too. Both my mom and sister are artistically inclined, yet never use their skills. I"m forever trying to inspire them, but alas...they are both Geminis. (That's right, I'm a fish who grew up in a house with 2 Gems and a Sag Dad....loudest house ever 🙂 )

Scorpion---Not all of us are lucky bastards....some of us are sell-outs 🙂

"What period?"

Lots of different periods, actually! My favorite is 16th century British. SO MUCH DRAMA and change. And executions. The barbaric behavior of people in those days fascinates me. Not that we don't still have that side....it's just been tempered with the knowledge of Science.
