An eclipse occurs when the orbits of the Moon and the Earth align closely enough together with the Sun to block the light of the Sun from the Earth (a Solar eclipse), or the moon (a Lunar eclipse). Solar Eclipses are very powerful New Moons. Every month we have a New Moon, but only every six months do we have a Solar Eclipse. A Solar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes directly between the Sun and the Earth and blocks the sun?s rays from the Earth. They herald significant endings and beginnings. The Solar Eclipse on October 3 , 2005 occurs at 10? Libra19 at 6:27am. All Libra Sun Sign people will be most affected by this Solar Eclipse as will those with Libra rising. As a rule, eclipses occur in the same sign for eighteen months, always in pairs consisting of a new moon and a full moon and two weeks apart. This Solar Eclipse will be followed by a Full-Moon Partial Lunar Eclipse on October 17 at 24 ?Aries 13 at 7:14 am. Eclipses help us break old patterns and make major changes in our lives. They require reappraisal and restruct- uring, often on a drastic scale. Just as we are feeling comfortable, they shake up our thinking so that we might move forward to a new level of evolution and maturity.
