Margaret Hodge (British politics)

The name may not mean much to Americans but Margaret Hodge is a British politician that I (and many others) loathe. She is from the left and her job is to head up what is known as The Public Accounts Committee over here and what this means is that what she does is to point the finger at big corporations (and possibly rich individuals) to castigate them for not paying their fair share of tax. Nothing wrong with that EXCEPT that she is herself a very rich individual (her money comes from family-owned businesses) and she herself pays not a penny more than she has to in tax. Despite this she is basically self-righteousness on legs. Hypocrisy, anyone? (And the worst of it is that she is a Virgo: I hang my head in shame). 😢

One amusing thing about this though is that her detractors sometimes refer to her as Margaret Hoxha (pronounced "Hodja") as Enver Hoxha was the dictator of Albania back in the day!
