The term "biased" is often used as a pejorative (deragatory), because bias is inherently unjust, lacking merit.
I think what nico was trying to say was you used the word biased incorrectly. None of what angelfish said was lacking merit, it was all backed by very reliable sources. So you see she is not making statements based off of bias. She is doing the research Posting what she "knows" is true. And her calling people who disagree with her an idiot may be biased but she seems to be the one of the only people here who have done actual research on the statements they make. 🙂

The only explanation can be a lack of understanding of economics, our government system, our constitution and our health care system. The combination of the four is the only thing that makes sense. It is safe to assume that people are trusting Obama when he says that he wants everyone to be able to get proper medical treatment and at a lower cost.
However this bill describes a much lower quality of treatment than is currently available (even if you don't have health insurance) and over time is going to cost each person many times more than private insurance. So... the only explanation is a lack of understanding of how our medical system works and how economics works.

I have a friend that supports Obama-Care because he believes that he is entitled to health insurance and that employers should be forced to pay for his health insurance. His reasoning is that being a single father and what he makes he can not afford health insurance. I called bullshit on him. I told him that he has chosen not to purchase health insurance as while he can't seem to afford that he can afford a third vehicle and off-road after market equipment that amounted to about 2 years of private health insurance. And I am talking like 85/15 with a $ 1500 deductible here.
I told him to go fuck himself because he wants ME to pay for his insurance and more through higher cost in goods and services to keep employers in business under his idea.
He highlights the mentality. I feel I deserve it but I DON'T WANT to pay for it and if i can I will MAKE YOU PAY for me.

Yes -- the same FREE MARKER that has produced such a cornucopia of inexpensive goods and services that, today, even poor people have cell phones and flat-screen TVs. As a result, it's easier to get your computer fixed than your health. Thanks, government!
We already have near-universal health coverage in the form of Medicare, Medicaid, veterans' hospitals, emergency rooms and tax-deductible employer-provided health care -- all government creations. So now, everyone expects doctors to be free. People who pay $ 200 for a haircut are indignant if it costs more than a $ 20 co-pay to see a doctor.
The government also "helped" us by mandating that insurance companies cover all sorts of medical services, both ordinary -- which you ought to pay for yourself -- and exotic, such as shrinks, in vitro fertilization and child-development assessments -- which no normal person would voluntarily pay to insure against.
This would be like requiring all car insurance to cover the cost of gasoline, oil and tire changes -- as well as professional car detailing, iPod docks, leather seats and those neon chaser lights I have all along the underbody of my chopped, lowrider '57 Chevy.
The whole idea of insurance is to insure against catastrophes: You buy insurance in case your house burns down -- not so you can force other people in your plan to pay for your maid. You buy car insurance in case you're in a major accident, not so everyone in the plan shares the cost of gas.
DID ANY OF THIS SINK IN? MAKE ANY SENSE?
Can any one of you left wing liberals seriously bring to the table a valid argument against what I just said above? Can you address these points?

I will say that the government is broken, its been broken for a very long time. I think its time for the all the fear-mongering to stop and those who live in there 'own world' really need to move out of the way and let the current administration fix what has been damaged badly.

I mean really, you can't be serious. He gave a valid argument. It was good enough for this thread. Everyone doesn't have to type pages full of rhetoric that intended to cause confusion (except for those that know how to read it, like me 😉) and cause other users to not engage in a discussion with you.
