Capricorn confused by Taurus

Hello all, I am new to this forum. I am a Capricorn woman who is dating a Taurus male. I understand ours is one of the most favourable pairings according to astrology and there is a unique feeling to this compared with other signs ive dated, however I find that its really hard to get to know this Taurus fella. He is sooo hard to read. He seems very serious but I am not sure. We are both quite stubborn and dont give a lot away. Sometimes we seem to get quite close then very subtly we seem to withdraw a little without realising. This is one of the strangest relationships I have been in but one of the most intriguing. Thing is, I am wondering whether we will always continue with this distance in between us or eventually get closer. Do Taureans open up more as time goes on. Its been just over a year now and very slow progress lol.
