How long did you date someone before proposing or being proposed to?

I got engagded after 10 months of dating.. me being a Capricorn the man I almost married was also a cap.. BAD IDEA... it seemed cool at first, but later we realized it wasn't all it was cracked up to be. I'm glad that fizzled out. You need to know someone longer than 10 months. View them in ALL seasons and as many differnt situations as possible.

Marriage #1: Dated three years in high school- married right after. We'd probably still be married if we hadn't been smacked with a tragedy we were *way* too young to deal with- but- after four years of marriage we called it quits.

Marriage #2 (10 years later!): Dated sixteen months then married....the dating lasted longer than the marriage did- HA!

Five to six months- however, it was something that had been building up for some time- we just didn't realize it- we were friends for a long time before anything happened- we've known each other as friends for years- best way to start a marriage is to have a great friendship as a foundation
