I can't seem to tame this Lion!!

Hey. Im a 23 yr old Gemini.
I dont really know enough about astrology or the zodiac (duh, im a Gemini, jack of all trades, master of none! 😛)
but i'm trying to date this Leo girl. She's 2 yrs younger than I am...
we've been friends for about 2 months now... and i cant seem to get her to realize that I am not wanting to play games...
i do not hold anything against her, and i do know that she has hooked up with other guys since having met me... but since we're only friends, then i dont even bring that up in conversation.
I know that Leo's love the spotlight and being showered with gifts... being the witty guy that i am, I already made some artwork for her (which she loved) got her a rose, and just little things like that to make her realize that I am not just wanting to get into her pants...
however, i feel like i might be smothering her. :\
ive been cheated on in the past, so i wouldnt do that ever!! despite my flirtatious ways, if i am dating someone (either her or anyone else) i would not drop her and run off with someone else for a one night stand.. definitely not!

she told me recently that she likes a challenge, like when a 'guy plays her off'
and that is exactly the opposite of what i've been doing!
any leo girls out there... give me some insight, is she playing mind games?
cause i know i can outplay her and outsmart her on that level, no questions asked.
i dont want to play mind games with her though, i've been 200% honest with her from day one and i dont want to start deceiving her.

just give me a little bit of insight, what should i refrain from doing? should i do something different?

im at a loss.
