Is he Fertile?

I meant to ask this a long time ago but never got round to asking.

I knew a man once who told me he had a vasectomy when his son was 1yr old. He is now 20yrs old. Apparently his then wife tricked him into having a baby, when he told her clearly he doesn't want them.

I would like to point out that I currently have a coil and have had for a While!

Anyway we were in love and he told me he couldn't have kids. But as time went by, he began asking "Would you have a baby with me?" I said "Yes" as i was dreaming of one with him anyway but Never told him how I felt on this matter.

As time went by he began to say.."I want a baby with you." So i said it back. I then said "you shouldnt have had a vasectomy. You can use condoms you know."

He said "yeah I know but I wanted to make it permanent."

He said this same thing again months later..eg wanting babies with me. I just thought it was sweet to hear seeing as he cant (apparently), have babies.

So..

More time passed and when we made love, I asked him a question. "Are you fertile?"

His eyes widened, he panicked and immediately said "You do have a coil don't you?"

I said Yes I do have a coil. But why do you ask me about babies if you can't have them?"

He replied.."its the dream of having them with you."

Then..

"I can't have babies anyway.

He seemed to relax when I confirmed I have a coil.

So strange he would get scared and ask me about my coil!

i think i read once that you can still be fertile after a vasectomy but that is shortly after. your fertility decreases sharply the longer it's been since the vasectomy. a 19 year old vasectomy? i'd say you were safe.

i could be wrong with this though. it's not my field of expertise and i could totally be remembering that wrong.

Looks to me like it's a blessing that you're on the coil.

Stay on it until you feel it's time to get pregnant. Don't depend on him to have his balls clipped.

So you think he HAS NOT had a vasectomy. He is nearly 50yrs old, but a young 50.

oh. dunno but if you think he is a liar then i wouldn't recommend continuing to sleep with him. fertile or not.

My first thought is that he just has a breeding fantasy and he doesn’t actually want babies with you...he just likes pretending it’s a possibility. That’s why he freaked out when you asked if he was fertile because he DOESNT want kids.

Well yeah. That's kind of what I'm saying. I'm asking Is He Fertile because he doesn't want kids, but likes the idea of them with me but as he's nearly 50 doesn't want them.

But again its the question of is he lying about having had a vasectomy?

could have been lying, could be the trauma you know, poor man was tricked into having a kid, maybe he got some baby related PTSD

he's "technically" fertile, although not by natural means, you guys can get a doc to extract some seeds directly from his sac if you ever wish for it, and do the IVF, way simpler than going back into auto-fire mode after cutting the strings.

but a simple sperm check could remove every doubt too.

Unless you mean 'So he can have unprotected sex' ?

That doesn't make sense because if he pretended he had a vasectomy so he can Raw Dog then he'd get me pregnant.

Ok..

It was just really strange of him to get that nervous when I asked him "are you fertile!"

To ask about my coil in a worried fashion Yet wants kids with me.

I have never heard anyone call their IUD a coil.

Depends where you are from.

I'm from the UK. We call it a coil and an IUD
