Is the karmic connection felt both ways?

I read somewhere that the sun-ascendant synastry connection is a karmic connection, that it feels fated.
I find that kind of true for me, not even in just relationships, but i feel a special connection with my gemini friends (I am gemini ASC).
so does this go both ways? Lol

i've been in a relationship with a scorpio and for me it definitely wasn't a karmic connection. likewise, he was fixated on me for what i believe are superficial reasons. it was infatuation on his end and something to pass my time on my end, unfortunately. i love my scorpio friends though.
