i'd like to do a mars in Taurus topic. I don't know why they say mars in cancer is in the fall, or that mars in Taurus is detriment, like that of libra mars.

anyone have Taurus mars, and if you have it, what do you like about your mars, and does it make you slow and steady like a turtle?

Taurus is a very strong sign so when it's in mars too, it has a need (for the women) to pair up with men who give security and are responsible.

I think with men, it's the same.

my guy has mars taurus and i have mars libra.

both are in detriment. i think that means they are not able to act as easily or as quickly as they would like

he usually sets his goals for us of what to do and how to do it. i don't always understand or agree with his choices. mainly because he is not clear why or how to do something. i need time to adjust. this bothers him because he is used to being in control and when i ask questions for clarity or for different approach, his ego seems threatened. he takes it personally. he can speak in a tone that is cold or harsh or say things that are hurtful. it's not that he means to be hurtful, he is trying to be clear or he is frustrated because i am getting in the way of what he wants to do. his intention is to settle the conflict. there are still times when he loses his patience and forgets his manners but by learning to think before he speaks when he is frustrated and trying to be more patient while i catch up to his way of thinking, this has helped us settle many potential conflicts before they got out of hand and his stress has eased. we both know that once he gets to a certain point, he will not act reasonably because he has mindset of being heard, winning the argument and settling the conflict once and for all.

i often get frustrated with indecision on how to act when challenged. first instinct is to fight back but leo sun with taurus sun, there would be no holds barred so it cannot happen. now we know that while i have a need to be fair and stay open, that once i reach point of being disrespected, i will shut down and walk away. and there will be no resolution, in conflict, i usually take a long time to decide what to do. i hate being bossed or people pushing my buttons. i have had to learn to control my temper. i now realize that once i make up my mind i act quick and accept the consequences and i don't usually beat myself up for taking time to decide how to communicate something i need to say. though my first instinct is to prove i am right or just as right as he is, i now understand why i feel need to fight fair. it hurts me deeply when he is frustrated because i feel like he has directed his anger right at me. i take it personally. never thought about the detriment thing before. we have had to learn a lot about how the other person deals with conflict and what bothers the other person even when we cannot find the words to express it. we have managed to find a way to argue with respect, clarity and fairness. but it is usually slow and painful process to resolve conflicts and it will always be hard for us. both of our suns are fixed. relationship is very challenging.
