What's happening between us?(Aquarius F and Gemini M)

I am an Aquarius(20) in love with a gemini man(21). He just got out of a long term relationship (5 years) which he wanted to marry the girl and buy her a house. We both work together and get along well enough that people think that we're dating(we're not). It bothers him enough that he tells them what he later told me: that I only see her as a friend, and that I don't see something between us and, because we work so close together, I don't want to get into that drama. But he has stated to me that if we weren't working so close together and there was chemistry, he would have dated me and he has stated to me that he finds me attractive enough to date.

That was a 3 months ago. Now he is selfconscious about our interactions in front of our coworkers to the point that if I ask him a question (that any other person could ask) he gets all distant, cold and professional. I once asked him how his new puppy

was doing (which he has stated before is his dog and that we've only talked about this dog) as she was sick and he only gave me one word answers and would say "I have another dog". I know nothing about his family's dog, only the puppy. And one of our coworkers was there. Once our coworker left, he became normal again, but it hurt as it wasn't him.

Now adays he's distant to talking to me, and even has stopped replying to the few messages I send him(we don't talk outside work much, but we would invite each other out). He's depressed, he's showing the signs and displaying signs of wanting help, but he's pushing me away as I had sent him a message last week just asking if he's doing ok (as our other coworkers weren't doing fine) and he didn't reply an answer at all since.

What's happening between us? Another coworker is saying this is how he copes as a gemini as they may end up acting rude and noncaring to another, which I can feel. I don't know what to do.

Ha believe it or not when we like someone we get nasty sometimes 🙈😅 it’s weird. However the same goes for if we don’t like someone we act the same... so... yeah 🙈

No I think ...until he’s done with healing nothing is going to happen, when a Gemini is serious and things don’t work out we hurt a lot... and it usually takes years to get over tbh. Depending on the Gemini I guess, I’ve learned may Gemini are very loyal and deep feeling, June geminis are relationship hoppers.
