HELP!

what does it mean when you apologized to a guy and he accepts the apology but now he all he does is distances himself from you. He still texts you saying " how are you etc. But he doesn't talk to you when you see him. Just plain old hi and bye. what's the reason for texting than.

Accepting an apology and forgiving are not the same thing.

well I don't know he text me twice on friday I was mad at him so I didn't reply because he very frustrating. He can't talk to me at church but you can text me behind a screen—

Maybe he's just being polite.

It means that he's not hateful enough to hate you but yet he isn't over it enough to go back to how it was with you.

Some people don't just jump right back in like nothing ever happened, ya know. For some, the only quick thing they do is decide whether or not to cut you off for good. If they decide not to, that doesn't mean they are also agreeing to forget what happened that brought the fight or frustration in the 1st place.

Give him space. If you made a mistake, it's selfish of you to make it all about you & throw a pity party when the other person needs time to get the momentum going again on their OWN term & time (not yours).

However, if he never comes around, then hey, that's another story. And even then, I'd still tell you to remember that some people have less tolerance for bad situations than others. Can't blame them for that either

He's maintaining you with a tool and no longer wants the personal touch toward you or from you.

Texting is much less personal. Whatever you were apologizing for was his breaking point. He may have accepted the apology and isn't angry or upset anymore, but he's not interested anymore either. He forgave but no longer wants to invest in something with you. He'll send a text cause it is easy and non personal. Face to face...not interested.
