Karma - Is it real

Hi, Just wondering what you all think about it following a small incident recently. I was seeing a guy during the summer whom, unbeknownst to me, had a girlfriend that he had had an 2 year affair with while married and he then left his wife and family for. Obviously our "relationship" ended at that point :-). I remember thinking after this about Karma and how would it come back to bite these two people - for their affair and the havoc they wreaked in other peoples lives, especially the children involved - and as far as I can see still do. Anywho, forgot all about it and moved on... then a couple of weeks ago my sister, who does internet dating, found his profile on a dating website. Now according to both their Facebooks they are still together so I'm just thinking this player cannot stop himself from flirting/playing with women (he's venus and mars in gemini if that means anything :-), so I'm thinking this is her (bad) Karma coming back to bite her as she is bound to find out about his messing somehow or another - I wonder how will his Karma find him, maybe when she finds out and he loses the person he claims is his true love? Do you believe in Karma, and if so do you try to live your life so that you will mostly get good Karma coming back to you? I firmly belive in Karma, good and bad.

Lol, don't be afraid, be wise, you're so young to have learned it so now you can live your life well and treat others using this profound knowledge that you have :-)

I have never seen karma punish someone for a bad thing. Nor reward someone for good things.


People keep talking about karma and I would like to hope it is real but I have never seen it in action.

Shit happens to me whether I behave or not.

I think karma rolls over to the next life, in which case, I had to have been a nasty Nazi or something...

Then again, every time I do something unethical, bad things happen to me.

So, I believe that Karma doesn't reward - it only punishes.

I've seen karma at work, at least I think it's karma. Could be just really bad luck.

I do sometimes wonder about karma, and if it's God/the universe making these awful things happen OR is it a Lady Macbeth situation. Like...do we subconsciously feel guilty? therefore it torments us? Some people may be in complete denial over their bad actions, and how it hurts others. Yet they keep wondering why their life is always shit, and play the role of victim to life's cruelty. When in fact.. if they took a step back and actually looked realistically at what they were doing, they'd realise they were responsible for their own suffering. I've been doing this a lot lately, I think it's some form of internal guilt over my past that haunts me, and until I realise and accept the terrible things I've done, I'll continue feeling this way.

We are made of energy, our body, and its parts are made up of organs which are in turn are made up of cells, the cells into molecules, the molecules to atoms, the atoms...energy.

Usually, karma has negative connotation, that it's justification for a wrong upon you. Karma is energy coming back to us in the form of receiving any expending energy. Positive And negative, give receive. If someone hurts you, it's wrong to assume that this person who hurt you will get the same punishment that was dealt. But he will have that negative energy return to him, in some way.

For example heart break comes in many forms. A woman who had her heart shattered by a man who gave her unresolved closure, may find out years later her ex is broken up about his child's substance abuse, not knowing how his child got to that point, left with no answers and heart break. She may or may not want her ex to hurt, but energy never disappears. It's rerouted.

It works.

If she never knew her boyfriend (him) had a wife and kids ... and now he's found messing around, as the Player will do .. then there wouldn't be any bad that she ever did.

My point is ...... by virtue of his lack of morals, he is apt to mess around with women, and would do so whether his girlfriend would know about these affairs or not .. so how can that be attributed to karma.


I just can't see how you are justifying it. She's paying karma because he's doing a player does = plays


If karma is going to get her, it's going to be something that counts .... his bad actions don't count as her wrong doing

How do you know that their relationship wreaks havoc in the ex-wife and childrens lives?

Is this a backwards way of admitting that you also knew he was married and had children?

Sounds to me like you are still attached to him ... why should you care about his comings and goings?

This isn't your life .... why is it your business to gossip about it?

I don't expect to help a little old lady across the street and be suddenly showered in $ 100 bills - what I do take exception to is helping someone out and then getting kicked in the head for it.

I believe you're talking about the effect of karma...ie: what you've done consciously at any time and all times versus the effect of it= "consequence".
I do believe in that at least. The hand we're all "dealt" doesn't exactly negate our free willl to think through and act through...or not. So, if I were to DO something that does indeed have opportunity for things to be harder on me later then I have put myself into that situation through my karma. Bare with me, I'm only learning buddhist philosophy.

Yes! that's it 25th, its the concious thing, i',m interested to hear your thoughts when you get more into your learning.

Yes, she knew. Her lack of morals also comes into play in this case.

Sigh... Because I know due to facts I am not going to go into here, this is just the bare outlines of a situation where I think current lifetime karma may be coming into play, no more facts are needed in order that this be discussed as I have no desire to discuss the event itself

No I didn't know he was in a relationship when i met him.

No I am not still attached to him.

I'm not gossiping about it, I could, I suppose, just have posed the question "is Karma real" and just left out anything else, a blank post perhaps - if you want gossip well then I can PM you the whole sorded story, but I won't - I can;t be arsed with that, just interested in the Karma thing - in this world PA not the one in your reality at the moment.

LOL, i'm sorry, didn't mean it in a serious way, I have read so much on the venus/mars gemini thing I thought Oh jeez now I've met one, but I know really these actions are all conscious actions and free will, we make our choices regardless of our "placements".

I thought we were discussing your reality here .. you know the one where a guy is a player and fucks around, and so you want to attach a woman's broken heart to karma around it.

i believe karma is just a label. a label for the rule of intent, because core intent is what everything is based on.

Yes it is real. There are ways to find that out. If you pay more attention to the metaphysical you will come into contact with events and experiences that prove this phenomenon. Not necessarily your experience.

Also people may deny things to not be real. As for me I think it is.
